  • Should I be considered with deed recording

I have been waiting for my deed to be registered with the Broward County Registration office for my recent timeshare purchase. It got recorded yesterday, however when they entered the information into their ledger sheet they have the wrong unit number.

The deed itself has the correct week and unit number. Is this something I should concern myself with or will it get corrected when they verify the information before confirming the records.

    Thanks

    Ben

No idea how it works, but, if you found the error, and you have the deed, you may as well call the county office and let them know, so they can fix it asap.

I would definitely get it corrected. If you sell it in the future, someone doing due diligence may back out because of the error.

It doesn't make any difference now, you are all ready stuck with it.

I don't beleive this is true. It is the counties error not the buyers or sellers. Contact them on Monday and insist they re-record it correctly at no cost to you.

I am letting you know right now. In the future please stay on topic and keep out the sarcasms. Your post has absolutely nothing to do with this members question. In the future if you should go off topic like this again your posts will be deleted. This does not help our members who are here looking for help.

I would contact them and let them know that they indexed the wrong unit number. They should correct it. It should not require re-recording the deed. It also would not affect the validity of your deed, but might create confusion for someone doing a title search.

Thanks for your suggestions and help.

I have emailed the county and hopefully they will they will correct.

I was more concerned that if I ever sold the week I could run into some difficulty.

I love the resort (Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort) and this is a second week I purchased. The building is in the process of being totally rennovated, new furniture and appliances.

Ben, email is fine but I would still pick up the phone and get a human with a name on Monday - see what they say, how long it will take to correct and follow up to see if it is done.
If not, call the human back until it gets done
I know you are pleased with your purchase but the day will come when you will decide to sell it or give it to family and you want everything in order.
