  • Need help listing timeshare rental on EBAY

There seem to be so many categories on ebay for vacation rentals. I have a timeshare I need to list ASAP (March rental in Caribbean) and would appreciate any advice for those of you who have been successful renting on ebay. Thanks for any and all help in this area.

How about put that week into exchange company? I know it is late, so the trading power will be hurted, but it maybe better than put in eBay.

If you don't like the exchange opportunity, how about put in Tug's Last Min rents, your situation is in that range (don't know your price range though).

I did not do any renting on eBay, but if I am not mistake, to rent on eBay, you need to be in eBay Square Trade certification. To sell, you don't need to. There are several verification steps. Most important, it will cost you like 9.95 per month. This month it is free though. But if you only do one rent, it make no sense to do in eBay. If you know someone has that status, you can ask them to help you, but it will cost you.

If you still want to do it, you need first figure out what will your title says, do some searchs on eBay's lodging area like you want to rent see which one get back, and you need copy the one that come back in most of your search combination.

Then give it a range of days.

Most of the eBay list has "buy it now price", so you can set your price that way.

Some has "buy it now price" with "or best to offer" option, so you can attract some people that want to neg. And still control the possible final price.

Travel Lodging has more sellers than buyer, so very few has bid option, and if you really want to put on bid, you should put low starting bid price, in hope that it will attract people to jump in, and in return, it will attractive more people notice and jump in and the final price will be close to the market price, but you also need to prepare to have someone bid too low. Just let it run a little bit longer (like 2 weeks)

Some people will start a low bid and put a reservation price around their cost, that usually not good, I saw most of the bidding stopped and end up at lower than the reservation price, if you just want to get rent by putting on eBay, you better prepare to take a loss.

If you do the bidding, try to assume you will not have any control of the final price, and see if you like or not. But with less 1 month to the travel day, it will not good to have the bidding close at say 1 day before the travel day.

Since I never try to rent something using eBay, so my comments probably be very off
