  • Do I have to attend?

I have been told (from a Bluegreen rep) that as a maryland resident, I am not required by law to attend the sales presintation if I stay at there resort. He said this is a new law that has been for maryland residents since about 2005. Is this true?

Sounds like BS to me. They will say anything to get you to tour. Tell him to get the paddy wagon ready for you.

My eyes must be playing tricks on me. I thought it said that he was required. I missed the not.

Law or no law, just say no. If they say it's required, tell them to call the police to bring you there by force (don't try this in some foreign countries).

what a line...as if anyone would be forced to attend a presentation. Like Tony says, no is a very fine word...enjoy your vacation!

Wait--if he's going on a promotional stay, he probably IS required to go to the presentation. That's what it always says in the fine print, if you go on the promotional trip, then you must attend the sales presentation or else they will charge you the full retail price of the accommodations.

Is the OP going on an exchange or on a promotional stay or does he own the week or what?

He did not say it was a Promo deal. If it is he does have to take the tour. If he does not take it then they will charge him for the full value of the Promo.

always read the fine print...the devil is in the details.
"If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.... If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed."

Tell them no, they can't force you to go against your own will.

This is true if it is not a promotional stay. If it is and you don't attend, you pay the full price of the stay. You have a choice, go to the presentation or spend a lot of money not to.
