  • 2007-2008 School Calendar

Our school calendar for next year was just published....

I gambled on Spring Break and won...

We are gettting Thursday, 3/20- Monday, 3/24 for Easter, and the week of 4/21 off for Morritts, I mean Passover

well someone had to lose and I guess it was me!

Oh well. missing 3 days of school <and getting to spend my birthday> at a 2BDRM Morritts Grand is well worth it in my book!

Maybe I can go to SCal for Passover now. HMMMM.

This is assuming my school calender will match yours Avery.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

We're lucky if we get our schedule for the Fall by late April. This year we're not even sure what school system my youngest will be in as there is a territory war going on. They've finally figured out that they get more tax dollars per kid than they spend on them, so two systems are fighting over approximately 100 kids.

Well our school district is supposed to come out with the '07/'08 calendar at the end of Feb. I did find out that in 2007 the first day of school is September 5th which is different as we usually are in school before Labor Day.

It is crazy we have to 'gamble' on what the dates are going to be. 2007 is pretty well booked in RCI weeks and 2008 is fading fast. Already thinking about 2009 here.

My younger dd's school posted their schedule awhile ago. Since I figure that spring break next year (2008) will be spent in doing a college tour (schools yet undetermined) I'm not even looking at timeshares.

and here I thought you'd be all excited about me coming to SCal next April and buying you a drink.

Here in the NYC area the schools attempt to make both camps happy. Most years that is relatively easy to do as Passover and the Easter Holy Days are within 10 days of each other.

The problem comes when they are a month apart, as they are in 2008.

The good news is TPI can probably accommodate a San Clemente request for 2008. Still close enough to DOD...OR before I even go down that road; I can call PSE in June and see if I can wrangle an even numbered Laguna Surf with no trade fee. That would be the best of ALL worlds.

                    Lawren,

Our schedule is exactly as it was the last time the holidays were split a few years ago, so you should check and see what your district did then. Also, btw, our district votes on the calendar in February or March, but really doesn't make much of an effort to publicize it other than making it available in a somewhat buried link on the school's website (a resource most parents don't use).

Although we usually follow the BOCES calendar; I don't think our school district will pull the same stunt they did in 2005. We only got 3 days for Easter and 3 days for Passover. People were really about not getting a spring week off and just yanked the kids out anyway.

Needless to say I was one VERY UNHAPPY camper, with no vacation from August until June.

Hopefully we will have our 2008 school calendar before the middle of June this year when I have to reserve April with PSE....or if no availability there, deposit with TPI.

That would make me very very cranky, too.

btw, we are also getting three days again for Thanksgiving

Not sure what to do since dh will surely protest. I can't take DS15 out of school, so am thinking Florida would be good for five days... maybe buy plane tix soon somewhere central, then hope for a good last minute week... there were sure plenty this year.

BUT, since we are either coming back to Park City next year or going to Whistler, and doing Morritts in April (pretty spendy there), I should probably just behave
