The following was posted on the 2/16/07 edition of Street Talk (www.streettalkblog.com.):
"IS THERE ANY TRUTH TO THE RUMOR…
* -that Festiva Resorts is buying Peppertree Resorts? You may remember that Peppertree became part of the infamous Equivest Resorts, which was purchased by Fairfield some years ago. (That purchase has not worked out all that well, frankly.) Well, rumor has it that when Butch Patrick and Don Clayton (owners of Festiva Resorts) were fired from Peppertree they said in leaving “One day we will own you.” Is that rumor coming true? (There’s probably nothing to it, but since I received no replies to my inquiries, I thought I’d pass the rumor along.)
UPDATE: Lo and behold, finally a response has arrived from Wyndham VO spokesperson Liz Hutchison (thank you Liz). Unfortunately, all she could say is that “at this point I do not have information that I can share with you about this acquisition. However, I will certainly keep you posted if this changes.” That isn’t exactly a plain yes or no, is it?"
If true, I wonder if this will affect owners of Equivest Vacation & Travel Club points.
