I have purchased two Hilton affiliated resorts. One of them I won well below what I thought was even a ridiculously low bid to begin with. You just need to use caution in reviewing feedback, closing companies, escrow, etc. to ensure the property has a clear title and your funds are secured properly. Also, read EVERY work in the description, and be sure you understand the statements. If any doubt, ask the seller first.

I added some Fairfield Seawatch points (where the fees and closing costs nearly equalled my bid price, but I knew that), and also a floating 2-BR every-other-year at 7 Mile Beach Resort, Grand Cayman for $1,000 bid plus $400 closing costs.
I bought two on ebay in the past 6 months, and four from Holiday. I guess it's time for another 12 steps program!

I've bought several since the deals were too good to let go. But, I really don't like the eBay buying and selling process. My closings go a lot more smoothly when I find my own buyer or I use a licensed broker.
I have purchased several and have been watching since January.
Got a resale Sheraton 2BR L/O for a song , a Cape Cod week 2 miles from my parents home on the ocean with day use priviledges for them and a Divi week just for the heck of it (didn't need that one - will probably sell and buy the 'next season')
Purchase price for the 3 was under $1700 + closing.
I have made several purchases in the past few months. I would warn everyone to read their contracts carefully before they sign and pay. I have found errors, either innocent or intentional, on three of the deals.

very good point.....I was lucky with my 3...and I even got title insurance as part of my closing fee for the Sheraton - I wasn't expecting it but am glad I have it!
Have bought several ebay timeshares, and have so far had absolutely no problems. All bought at gold crown, or Hilton properties, and places I previously visited and was interested in. In the future, I am sure as people become more comfortable with the process, it will become the method of choice for many (but obviously not all) people. At first I didn't like it, but now I embrace it, because I know it is here to stay, whether we like it or not. It has driven down prices on resales, so now they are disposable, we will turn them over much more rapidly than we have in the past. Change is painful, but its inevitable.
I paid $700, $1.00, and $511 for my last three Timeshare weeks. I don't think I would be buying timeshare weeks at this time without the good deals on Ebay.
The $700 is in Wisconsin near Door County.
The Dollar timeshare week is a 1 bedroom in Northern Wisconsin for the Labor day week.
