What a bunch of meaningless numbers. Most timeshare owners are dumber than dirt. They bought from a developer, an overpriced product, and think they got a good deal. They think that an answer in TUG's Ask RCI is an honest answer.Originally posted by JLB View Post
I recently attended a meeting of the Maryland Timeshare Owners Association. This is a basically a one man show and Ed Hastry seems to do a good job of getting speakers for an annual meeting. Lisa Ann Schrier and reps from RCI and II. There were breakouts for RCI and II. RCI gave an expected vanilla presentation. I asked questions that I knew the answers to, about shades of color and VEP, etc, etc. No personal questions and no selling to Travel Agents questions, just questions to try to educate the audience. Well, people complained to Ed that Madge couldn't get through her presentation. There were 60-70 people in the room, they were clueless you could see it in their eyes and the expressions on their faces, no one had ever heard of these concepts, Red does not equal Red, Quality rating does not directly affect Trading Power, and VEP-what's that? A few people came up to me afterwards to thank me for my questions before I was cut off.
This was a group with an extra interest in timesharing, they paid $50 a year to join and $30 for the dinner, yet they had no idea and didn't want to know. Almost all had grey hair and were just oblivious.... not enough time for all the timeshares ®
