Best timeshare deal... or is it?

Angie.. We live in Vancouver.. the TS company is called point to point destination. Point to Point Destinations - Vacations, Timeshare, Vancouver, Whistler, Victoria: Vacation Properties They say as the owners we determine the MFs. there is annual meeting in Vancouver.. I do think it's nice to have something close to home.. Whistler may be a good idea (Intrawest) I guess it would be very expensive though..

If you want Point to Point Destinations, here is a resale Points account availble resale through the Holiday Group. Timeshare Resale Opportunity at Point to Point Destinations Club in Vancouver, British Columbia. It's for more points than what you bought directly and for a quarter of the cost.

This listing is in their "new properties" list which means that they've had it less than 1 week. They typically are not willing to negotiate on price when they've only had it a week. They'll do so when it's been sitting for a couple / 3 weeks. We bought our Whistler points week through Holiday Group.

I rescinded the contract! Thank you all! When I told the salesman that I can get it for a lot less at resale, he told me that I would not be able to get the service and support from them if I buy resale. ?? is that true? I was thinking that it doesn't matter.. I am getting better support from this forum anyways! ;-)

What service and support ? You will be an owner just like anyone else. There are a very few resorts where resale buyers do not get all the benefits of someone who overpaid- the only one that comes to mind is Smuggler's Notch. In these rare cases, the people hurt by this are the owners because it makes the resale value less than it could be.

Point to Point have some beautiful resorts, but 12.5K is just too expensive.

Here is an ad that might interest you. I found this in under two minutes. I'm not saying it's the best deal, but less than you're going to pay for more points.

Again, a strong suggest to rescind while you can. If, after research, you decide you want to get the same deal, believe me, it will be there, no matter what the salesman told you about a one time offer, blah, blah, blah.

BTW, I live in Abbotsford - I don't imagine they were giving away free Canucks tickets for your presentation? It's what I got (twice) for sitting through their sales pitch.
