  • Free Timeshare

Hi, I purchased a deeded timeshare when I was 20 (long time ago) as a result a well tuned high pressure sales tactics. To date I have never used the blasted thing. I am tired of paying the maintenance and need to find someone that can use the thing.

Is anyone interested in a White, Floating, deeded week for a 1 BR at Tanglwood Resort in the Poconos (PA)?

Resort Link: Tanglwood Resort - Hawley Pennsylvania - VRI

The 2007 maintenance is paid in full. All we would need to do is transfer the deed.

    The maintenance fee is $381.

1 Bedroom + sleeper sofa Kitchen

Dates available for for use are:
    5/4/2007 - 5/25/2007
    10/5/2007 - 12/21/2007
    3/7/2008 - 3/14/2008
    5/12/2008 - ...

Whatever you do, do NOT pay a company like Timeshare Relief, or anyone else, a dime to take it off your hands. If noone bites, you can list it on ebay for $1.

And beware anyone who posts here that those companies are a good idea, they have shills all over the timeshare boards.

Oh, and Welcome! to TS4Ms. If you decide to keep it, we will help you trade it for something you might use. Not the easiest thing in the world with what you've got, but doable depending on your travel interests...

Thanks. I have already tried to post on eBAy. They charged me $35. The ad had no reserve and I received no bids.

The resort is managed by VRI which I think has gone to a points system whatever that means.

As you can see, for being an owner for 26 years, I know nothing about using it. I think if someone else could use it everyone especeilly my family would be better off.

Have you called the HOA, and offered to deed it back to them? VRI cannot force you to go points, if you have a floating deeded week, you can trade it in thru RCI or an independent for a fee.

How much did you ask for on ebay?

        What is the maintenance?
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

Also, you didn't finance it, did you? If yes, has the loan been paid off, or are there outstanding payments?

There is no outstanding mortgage as it was paid off in the 80's. The maintenance is current as well.

Can you list what the MF is normally and what time of the year your white weeks are. I am sure you will get a taker from here to take it off your hands.

This looks like a cheap way for someone to get in on the VRI trading preference in RCI.... Lawren, do you think that would take a red week, or might this work?

NO more timeshares for me, no more timeshares for me

Yes that will give you VRI preference plus you get a discount on your RCI yearly dues as well as getting discount exchanges on other VRI trades. I had a blue Cape week that had gotten me some nice trades.

The last information the current owners were given was that we paid for that last year with a $286 special assessment. I know of no further special assessments that are pending.

Has anyone mentioned that you could offer this timeshare for free on the TUG board in their "Timeshares under $25" section? The general site is www.tugbbs.com. I can't find the exact link, sorry!
