  • Timeshares near bike paths?

Can anyone recommend a timeshare that has nice biking paths or near beach and boardwalk area used for biking? We were at Virginia Beach this week and that was really nice. Just trying to plan ahead for the next vacation, Thanks, Tammy

      Sutherland Crossing

Sutherland Crossing in Crystal Beach FL is near the Pinellas Trail which is a 40-50 mile walking biking etc. paved trail in Pinellas County FL.

There is a bike path that runs through Nags Head past all of the timeshares there along the beach road (Virginia Dare Trail and Old Oregon Inlet Road). There is another one in Manteo on Roanoke Island, that the local state senator got the state government to spring for a million dollars to build. I don't believe the two connect, however.

I see people have all ready mentioned Hilton Head (not only trails but 12 miles of beach, which is great biking) , Nags Head, Duck, NC ... one that we want to try is "clover Ridge" Iowa , wife was born there and has never been back , they are on a 38 mile path ... if you have any chance to go by .. there are some terrific ones in Western Va "new River trail 57 miles" and "Virginia Creeper 37 miles" Michigan and Wisconsin as do Minn. and Pa. have a lot of trails... I hit quite a few last year in Michigan, but was mostly camping...a great source for trails is "rails to trails" Rails-to-Trails Conservancy:: Creating a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines:: Building healthier places for healthier people. when we stay in Orlando, I usually go out at least one day to one of a few trails within 20 miles of there. luck

Cape Cod has great bike paths.....and would be wonderful to visit in the spring (May-June) and fall (September/October) when it is cooler to bike...hot and crowded in the summer

edit, any of the CC timeshares would be near the trails or easily accessible with a short ride - it's not that BIG!

The Pacific Beach and Mission Beach areas of San Diego have beachfront walks with designated bike lanes. Beach front is about 3 miles. Then they connect to bike paths around Mission Bay, maybe another 4 or 5 miles. I do them every December, including a pub crawl with my son. Try Capri By The Sea or See The Sea timeshares. Practically impossible trades during the summer but obtainable in the off season. Of course any San Diego area timeshare would be close enough. There are several bike rental places in the area.

                    Bike paths

If you want just bike paths and no beach, we went to Whistler, B.C. last year. Full of bike paths everywhere. Beautiful place to see and ride.

Coronado Beach Resort has verrry quiet streets all around. We bicycled all over Coronado. We took the bikes with us on the ferry to San Diego many times so we could pedal along the waterfront all the way to Point Loma (good lunch stop at the Point Loma Seafoods Point Loma Seafoods - The Freshest Thing in Town ).

Lots of bike rentals in the area. Coronado Beach Resort also has free bikes for you to borrow for several hours or all day depending on the demand.

Bicycling here made this my wife's favorite place to stay in the San Diego area.

In Maine, Acadia National Park's main area has carriage roads, which are shared by horses, bikes and hikers. I'm not sure how many miles there are of them, but one section we walked a couple of years ago was 8 miles or so.

Doesn't look like any are real close to timeshares.

Sanibel has bike paths that run all over the island. You can also bike through the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. There are several timeshares on the bike path.
