Let's say you decide it's time to buy another timeshare, or even foray into your first property. What timeshare would you purchase?

I can't buy another TS unless I get rid of 2. So if I got rid of 2 I would buy Gurneys for a June 1st or 2nd check in so we can go there on our anniversary every year.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

Half of that is true!
If we did buy another, it would be Week 1 or 2 in SW FL, probably the ugly little resort we like.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

The best advice about which TS to buy is "Buy were you want to vacation" Buy a TS resort (or system of resorts) which is were you want to vacation. For us that Whistler BC and SoCal. But we currently own 3 weeks in whistler (one is DD) and 2 weeks in SoCal. So no more TSs for me till I sell one or two.Bill

If I could wake up either before I bought our first timeshare which was a developer resale, I'd have enough money to buy 9 places I've bought since and could still be looking for the next one. I promised myself I am not looking now.
One day, after I find someone who will buy that developer resale for near the bargain price I paid, it will be like starting over. One day.

I would buy an oceanfront timeshare close to home within 30 miles or so but it has to be fixed time and an oceanfront fixed unit too and rather not when the schools are out so off-season would be fine except for May and June.
I doubt if they exist. I wished Laguna Surf was like that but it isn't so I have to pass on that one.

Right now it would probably be the new Marriott Crystal Shores on Marco Island, FL floating Platinum Season but, I'd have to pay developer prices.
If I was looking resale I might consider AZ or a CA coast resort. More likely than not I'd be looking S. Florida Beach resort.
My problem is there are SO many choices of locations I wouldn't mind owning. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

For use, something close to home within a day car travel. Better something close bye for day use if wanted.
For trade, then that could be anywhere, for me travel costs are still a constraint so probably look locally.
