Hi folkx,
I thought I'd post some info on the Fairfield project in the Washington DC area since this area is basically devoid of timeshare units save for the Fairfield in Alexandria. But fear not, relief is on the way!
Fairfield (or Wyndam now) is in the process of building a resort on the other side of the Potomac is Oxon Hill, MD. It's a massive 'mini city' project called National Harbor. There will be a Gaylord hotel and Convention Center (currently under construction. Completion due in early 08), a Marriott, Westin, a waterfront, high end condos, shops, resturants, bowling alley, jazz clubs, etc. The area is pretty excited about it. However, keep in mind that at this writing, the Gaylord is the only building under construction. There is much work to be done.
Upon completion, the Fairfield/Wyndam will have 250 units and 42 'Presidential Suites', in an 11-story building. I thought it might have beautiful views of the Potomac but it looks like the Gaylord will be commanding much of the visual landscape.

Fairfield/Wyndam scheduled to open in Spring 09....Enjoy
