Ok, went to Williamsburg Plantation for the tour, not really planning to buy but..... Took the tour and it seemed nice. They said it is a 5 star resort and very easy to trade off and get in at other places ($139 domestic/$164 international fee to trade). This is an Interval property by the way, they said it was better than the "points" deals. Started off at $28,000, then some "deal" at $13,000. I finally bit and ended up with a 4BR every 3rd year (week 7, the week of President's Day) which I can break into 2 2BR's (paying the $139 exchange fee for the 2nd yr). I also got 3 "bonus weeks" every 3 years which are about $164 a week for domestic. The maintenance fee is $485 (162/yr). This deal started at $5990 but talked them down and caught a mistake, etc., ended up at $4490. The reason I took this and didn't try to find a "used" deal is they said I needed the "Gold Card" to be able to trade off to use other resorts, which I will probably want to do most years.
I have until Friday to cancel the sale, did I get a decent deal or should I cancel? Could I get a "used" one cheaper and would I be able to trade off if I do go that route? Would really appreciate any help/advice from the community as this is my first time doing this.
Thanks and God bless.
