Estoppel Letter Question.

I know this subject has been discussed at length in prior threads, so please forgive me if this is are repeat question.

Can someone please give me a simple explanation of an Estoppel Letter, and is it always necessary when purchasing a timeshare?

Here is the simple (tho not for sure), it gives someone the right to obtain information about a week from the resort management to someone other than the owner, usually a prospective buyer.

It is not always necessary as many resorts will provide the necessary information without it. I have done something similar when I requested the (the Royals) resort to provide residual information to a specific individual doing due diligence prior to signing a sales contract.
