    Bruce,
I think you're being a little harsh on Bing. Did he get screwed on a TS purchase? Probably. Is he often overly negative about it? Of course he is. Did he support Drkenrich? It sure sounded like it. While I won't say his motives are pure I don't think Bing is acting out of malice or greed. He probably just wants to keep people from making the same mistake he did.

    Bing,
Many on TS4Ms started out timesharing the same way you did. A lot bought from the developer (and overpaid for the privilege). The difference between them and you is that they learned how to make the most of their timeshare.

I was fortunate. I bought from the developer and rescinded the next day. I was told the same pack of lies you were. I was told so many lies that I ended up wondering if the salesman said a single true word. With that many lies it made it easy to decide to rescind. Too bad you didn't see the need to do the same.

People need to hear the good and the bad of timesharing. Your point of view needs to be heard. You probably need to temper it a little bit and not sound so defeated. Frankly, I have been surprised at how little criticism you have received over the summer and this fall. Lately people have really been blasting you though and that's too bad. But if you are going to post the way you do on a board like this, I think you should expect what you have been getting.

    Just my $0.02.

Harsh, maybe but then again IMHO it seemingly sounded like he wanted a $5,000. tax deductions for timeshares that are worthless in HMO as he has posted many times.

IMHO he was very giving a bad message in being the only one to support Drkenrich.

If some newbie followed his approval of Drkenrich then that newbie would waste $500 and maybe have more serious tax problems down the road if they used the foot doctor " Drkenrich services" .

I received a private email from Bing but I did not reply. If is going to post in support of persons like Drkenrich you have to wonder what his motives are in the face of that most everyone else recommended just the opposit for IMHO many valid reasons.

I have a bit of a problem beliving that Bing would be that gullable to be the only one to support Drkenrich. Maybe his contant negativity over all of all of timesharing is acceptable, but when there is something IMHO so blantantly wrong as his suport of Drkenrich I do question his thinking process and his motive.

The Drkenrich charity tax plan is the one thing IMHO he should have been very negitive about in regards to its worth, but he seemingly supports Drkenrich.

I welcomed dr k's OP and in that he said nothing about $500. After looking into it further I had nothing else to say about him or his scam. So understand this, I do not " support " ANY t/s scam. In fact my cause is to put an end to scams and hope the whole t/s business gets cleaned up! There is no "greed " in me. And please stop making up things about me and others here, it's childish ! Get off of this stuff that I support drk cause it is your lie that I support him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bing, does this post of your's look familar? Note Bing thanks Drkenrich several times. Most would call this posting a support of DRkenrich posting income tax donation advice which certified accountants have posted is wrong. Bing as you can plainly see did despite him saying to the contary did in fact in print support Drkenrich. Also if you look at that whole string you will be able to find were in posting number 4 Bigfrank clearly says he charges $500 for doing his "Tax donation service" before you even post on that string.

This is my last posting in reply to Bings mistakes on that income tax donation subject.

            Dr. Ken,

Thank you so very much for your good information on taxes and timeshare donations. As we all know, the I.R.S. is one of two things we can not escape while on this earth.

Uncle Sam has done his homework and he knows the actual WORTH of timeshares. If one is looking to get a big tax deduction by donating a timeshare they are only fooling themselves and possibly setting themselves up for penalties and fines. Timeshare is an investment in vacation time only, not profit motivated as in real estate sales. Thinking that a timeshare purchase is the same as real estate is VERY wrong. That is one of the lies that some timeshare salesmen will use in their presentation. Really !

To suggest that one should file a false deduction with the I.R.S. in hopes they will not be audited and it would just go through is not only dishonest, but is against the law ,and subject to fines! We all know we must render unto Ceaser even if we do not agree with Ceaser. The way to change that is by going to the voting booth.

To stoop low and sell a timeshare on ebay for a dollar is a real embarrassment after spending thousands of dollars for the thing. What does that say ? You must have made a poor decision to start with. Who would buy anything if you knew it is possible that your return would only be a dollar?

The sensible process is to sell it on your own knowing that you may incur a loss, as I did. It cost me nothing to sell mine. I listed on a free site and someone contacted me and they paid all the closing fees.

Timeshares are very difficult to dispose of. Some timeshare salesman will tell you that it will increase in value and you can turn a profit. While this possible,by far most will take a big loss. That is another tool they use to hook you into saying yes. Yes folks, this really does happen !

Timeshares are a major purchase and should be thought through. Consider what you are going to do when the time comes that it becomes useless to you.

With informative posts here such as Dr. Ken, it will greatly help people make informed decisions so they then will get the most from their purchase.

            Thanks again Dr. Ken

I repeat. There is no wording of me supporting a fake $500 tax deduction for drk. All I did was welcome him to this site because more opinions add to subject discussion. So bz you can stop trying to make something from nothing and making up stories about me. Show me where I agreed with drk's $ 500 scam. You can't !
Seeing as how bz did not respond to my PM it could be only one of two things.
              1. He does not know how to use the PM ( private message ) on this site or
              2. He has nothing to say of any substance.

I have made NO "MISTAKES" and thank you for stating that you have said your last. Most of it was wrong anyway.

                Dear Readers,

In the case of Mexican Timeshare the second market price is extremely low due to several factors. The most frequent is, Mexican regulations are not so good when it comes to timeshares; therefore is very difficult for the timeshare owners to make reservations on high season. In other words most of the timeshare members are doing monthly payments for a service they haven't and will not receive.

I don't believe that is true at all. Certainly there are a few resorts which generate continual problems, but I believe that 'most of the timeshare members' in Mexico are getting what they paid for and are happy with what they have.

I've been thinking about getting rid of one of ours but, not only would I likely need to list it for free, thanks to the PCC's the HOA adopted a poison pill and requires a $1,500 advance payment of MF's plus a transfer fee. I'd likely be paying close to $2,000 just to transfer it to a new owner.

As it is, it still exchanges very well and the MF's have been low. The only issue I have is owning to many timeshares so it gets tough to use them all. Fortunately, I have been able to make reasonable good use of all that we own. I know I'll be able to use it in 2013 and I can probably use it again without to much effort in 2014. Maybe by the time we get to the point where it's just to much work to work it into our vacations plans, the market will rebound a little and it will be attractive enough for someone to want to pay what amounts to nearly 5 years worth of MF's in advance to own it.
