  • Sold My Timeshare

I sold my San Luis Bay Inn timeshare week a few days ago and it is now in escrow. I advertised if on Redweek and My Resorts Network. In 2 weeks I received 7 interested buyers from My Resorts Network and 4 from Redweek. They were all private parties and I did not receive any e-mails from resellers. It was almost a bidding war between the buyers. I thought that people may be interested in the number of responses I got from the 2 places I advertised it.

I did advertise it on TS4MS and TUG earlier but had no response at all.

That's great, good for you and thanks for the information. I may try those places too and see if they can give it away!

              Congrats!
I saw your ad on My Resort Network I too went ahead and listed there and that is where my interested parties are coming from. Can I ask you a question...are you using a purchase agreement or just spelling everything out in Escrow Instructions? I am pretty comfortable with the potential buyer...someone else pointed out that I wouldn't have any recourse if the buyer backed out without a purchase agreement-but if the buyer backed out it's not like I would force him/her to follow through-I'd be dissapointed but I'd just continue to try to sell it

We spelled everything out in our e-mails as well as our escrow instructions. I am not worried about them backing out. I am very comfortable with the buyer and they already own 2 weeks of the same unit type at San Luis Bay Inn so they know exactly what they are getting. They wanted a 3rd week for their own use. Several of the others that responded have said they will buy it if it falls out of escrow.

Congratulations, John. I saw your ad here and also the one from San Diego. Have you had any offers on that one yet? I am happy to hear that you got your listed price but you had a nice timeshare as we have been there too. It is a sister resort of one of ours so we could spend bonus time there one day.

I read that you are going to take a nice trip to Canada again real soon. Enjoy your vacation!

is it difficult to sell one? Who does the closing? How much are the costs for closing?

                          Emmy,

I have decided to keep my Gaslamp Plaza Suites in San Diego. We like to use the bonus time to play tourist in San Diego. In fact we used a couple nights bonus time recently to go to the San Diego Padres and take a couple of tours.

I redid the ad for MyResortNetwork.com and Redweek to drop the additional banked SFX weeks.

Yes, we are leaving for our trip to Canada on August 9th, We are doing the Rocky Mountaineer Classic Circle train tour with Gold Leaf Service. We are also going to spend 3 nights in Vancouver, 3 nights in Victoria, and 2 nights in Seattle.
                          John

How difficult it is to sell depends on the resort, unit type, week, and what the price is. Mine was very easy to sell and in fact I had multiple offers. There are numerous timeshare closing companies. I am using Time Transfer Inc. based on recommendations. The closing costs are $300.00. You can do your own closing if you are comfortable with it.
