Want to buy a TS

Hi we're new to this and are busy doing some homework on buying a TS.My wife and i have two boys 6 and 8 so are planning to take a holiday every year.
Some advice on what timeshare to buy would be a great help.
1 would like to go to disney every 3 or so years
2 would like to go to europe every other year
3 go to different parts of USa every other year
4 ts would like to trade so needs to be able to trade easily(oct/nov)or (feb)(may)
5 have upto about $12,000(great exchange rate from uk)to spend
6 would like to purchase extra week/weeks for short breaks/family etc
7 resale or new not worried.have in a bid for marriott grande vista 3bd/3br lockout with buyatimeshare.com for $10,500 resale
8 where is a good location/resort/season to buy into

First of all, welcome! We have alot of experienced people here, some of which have owned timeshares for over 20 years and can tell you everything there is about timesharing.

First, never buy from a developer, most of the money they charge are for their fees and it is quite expensive.

Based on 1-4 of your criteria, it looks like you would like to trade yours quite frequently. you should be able to get to Disney quite often due to the many timeshares there.
I will defer to the Europe trade frequency, but I know there are some on this board who are either currently there or just came back.
There are always extra weeks to buy such as extra vacations or rentals, sometimes they are even given away depending on the exchange company.

Marriot is a good resort is a good resort and trades well.

I can't really recommend a good location/resort/season to buy into...I would probably say Hawaii would be one, but I'm sure someone else would have an opinion on this.

Perhaps a resort with a points based internal trading system would work best for you. That way you could travel off peak times and split weeks, or on short notice, and get the most from your points.

Well we've went and bought our 1st timeshare its Macdonald Dalfaber in Aviemore and it cost £3000 with£303 MF.2007 week is banked 3 years II membership and a free holiday in Spain (no airfare)
Whats the verdict

I have no idea, but would imagine it would be helpful to others to at least know the week number/vacation time period purchased.

I'm not sure when have anyone with good knowledge of MacDonalds (other than the chain fast food restaurants). Questions in that direction would be better answered at Timesharetalk Forum
You might want to come back here tho for help picking out a cheap US timeshare for a £1,000 or less with a annual fee/levy around £200 for your trades into Orlando and other places (your timeframe should be easy to trade into).

Bash the week purchased is 42 which falls in with our kids mid term break
