I just received a check for one of my OBX timeshares, and now have only a South Africa week to sell to complete my downsizing to two weeks. I am keeping only a July week on the OBX and a summer week in Europe. The OBX week will be rented for the next few years. Having accepted a new job in Europe, my vacation schedule will be changing, and the vacation destinations at the top of my list do not work well with timeshare or have no timeshare.

Congratulations, Carolinian. I hope you will enjoy your job in Europe. Will you stay in touch with us and let us know how you like that country and living there. I have a feeling that you are not moving to Western Europe. I lived in six different countries in Western Europe and each one was so different. Spain was my favorite because of the lifestyle in a warmer climate. I hope that it will be a great experience for you too.
I hope you will keep posting too about your feelings of RCI as it is no longer the company it used to be. We all have to agree with that.

Is this what happens when you do a lot of trading and travelling in Europe? You get a job there? Yikes, I better be careful where I trade and travel from now on!
Please keep us posted on Europe from the inside. I presume you'll still be travelling throughout Europe now that you can take better advantage of the LCC airlines.
I've started planning a 3-month trip to Europe. So far I'm just gathering info and ideas.
Taking a job there could mean an extended working vacation for you. Keep travelling!

I've been in place for almost four weeks now. Unfortunately, my salary is in dollars, but I now have both dollar and euro bank accounts. All of the currencies in this part of the world seem to be gaining on the dollar, not just the euro. The euro is, however, more convenient since it easier to convert more places, than the local currency.
So far, I am getting my feet on the ground more than travelling to other countries, but I will probably get in a few long weekend trips this Fall. It was good to rent a house to move into and get out of the hotel ten days ago.
I do watch the LCC websites for the air sales on a regular basis now.

Hi Steve,
Congrats on your new job! Europe sounds like a perfect fit for you! You are a very well traveled person and I often wondered if your job took you there, along with the pleasure of being in Europe.
I hate to sound nosey but what line of work are you in and what country are you based in? What resort do you own at in Europe? two of the weeks we own at are in Europe and we purchased them for the view from our unit and the area they are in. I am very happy for you and wish you well!
