  • luggage repair in NY?

I have 3 Keneth Cole suit cases that I thought were good suitcases that is untill the straps came off 2 of them. I can not find a place that will fix them. I went to 2 dry cleaners and 3 shoe repair places. No one can stich them. These are not cheap suit cases or I would have just trashed them. They are still like new.

Any ideas wher to bring them in the Queens NY area?

You know, this happened to one of my Coach bags. I brought it to them for repair and they ended up giving me a new Coach City Bag !

There are times when I really believe it pays to invest in the good stuff.
Nice for you Frank - and Beags, Coach is a standup company!

I always buy the same bag, I'm such a bore.
Oh, happy belated Birthday wishes to you.

I was not so lucky with my Eddie Baur Luggage. The inside coating that they put on the duffle bags is pealing off. The lugage is unuseable because it dirtys the clothes. They lasted about 8 or 9 years and I had thought they were life time but I found out the warenty is life time of the product. Last thing I buy from them will be suitcases. They also changed there watch warenty from lifetime to 2 years. I have an old one under the life time warrenty but I never wear it. I find the pruducts to be good as far as shorts and shirts goes but that is all that I will buy from them. What was a great company with custumer service is slowy going into the wrong direction.

I still prefer the old semi-hard sided American Tourister suitcases. After watching baggage handling at the airport, I'm surprised that anything else would last more than a few trips.

I know it's not Queens, but our daughter used to have an apartment next door to Lexington Luggage on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. They are one of the largest luggage retailers in the city. I don't know if they make repairs, but they could refer you to someone if they don't.

My low tech, cheapskate solution to that would be to put a clean garbage bag down into the suitcase and pack everything into the bag. A workaround for approximately a dime each way (carry along an extra bag for the return).

If using a garbage bag bothers you, a large bag from any store would work as long as it was sturdy plastic that would hold up.

I had called KC and they had first told me to mail it to them. When I laughed on the phone she said that I could bring it to a store and they would do it. I just got back from there Roosevelt Field store. I brought both suitcases, No questions asked. I have to go pick them back up in about 4 weeks. He was shocked to see it happened to 2 of them, He said he never saw that happen. My wife really likes the bags so I bought another one threw the mail two days ago. I have to say they are real good quality and they have taken a beating with us in the last 2 or 3 years that we have them. Samsonite started falling apart after 1 or 2 uses. When I went to a store they gave me a BS story that I have to send them someplace and they will evaluate them. That was the last Samsonite I will ever buy. Kenneth Cole stood by there 10 year warranty no questions asked and made it easy for me to get it fixed.
