I especially like to cook breakfast while in a TS. Our family wakes up at such diverse times. As the earliest riser, I don't have to wait on everyone else to stir. Also, the family likes to be able to lounge in pajamas longer.

It depends...
When we have family or friends stay with us, we make breakfast , lunch (we may take it with us in a cooler) and some dinners. When we are alone, we do what is convenient to us. When we are out and about all day, we eat on our way home.
We no longer need a kitchen for the two of us but with family or friends, it is wonderful, because we save money and we prepare the meals together, which is fun. The fellows have a beer at the barbeque while us women do the rest inside.

We cook. Always breakfast. For lunch, sandwiches, etc for taking sightseeing.
Special dinners out or if we are having visitors.
We did the pre made dinners (Dream dinners type of place) in Sedona and I absolutely loved it. It was cheaper than the grocery store...everything was made and labeled. No lugging from home or buying spices, etc.
Main courses and sides...sometimes we added fresh fruit or a salad. Wonderful!

Depends on where we go. In Cancun we might do a light breakfast or lunch, but have yet to eat dinner in the unit. Elsewhere I have meals planned before we leave and how many nights we eat out depends on the area. In Maine we always have a meal at Jordan's Snack Bar in Ellsworth and the Jordan Pond House in Acadia Park.
On vacation, like at home I do most of the cooking and I don't mind at all.

We cook or "assemble" (great description, bnoble!) almost all our meals. We take spices & seasonings & usually purchase everything else. When we drive we do fill a cooler with stuff from the fridge at home & usually have the first dinner already prepped & ready.
We make extensive use of on-site grills so timeshares that don't provide them are on the bottom of my rating scale. Ditto to the timeshares with pitiful kitchens or really cheap utensils & cookware.
We only eat out 1 or 2 times in a week & make it a special occassion where we are willing to spend some serious money. Eating in or doing picnics the rest of the time allows our budget to stretch to include those special meals out. I never waste my travel money on fast food that I could get anywhere on the planet, ie MickyD, Bk, et al.The legitimate object of Government is to do for a community of people whatever they need to have done but cannot do at all or cannot do so well for themselves”- Lincoln

We usually eat breakfast in, only because I am up so early; it gives me something to do before anyone else gets up. Lunch is usually out because we are touring in different areas, that is unless we are at the beach, then we have sandwiches. Dinner, most times, is eaten in restaurants. I always bring coffee with me and just some salt/pepper. I don't bring anything else because I don't plan on cooking much!

Wife Cooks
My wife enjoys cooking at times and other times doesn't so we usually play it by ear. I like to go out for breakfast and we usually do that 3-4 times in a 7 day trip. Lunch is hit or miss. We usually keep bagels, yogurt, fruit, and easy things for in between meals. Oh, by the way, I also like to eat and enjoy my wife's cooking.

Mostly I cook but we always wing it. I don't think of it as a chore or a big deal - it's not at all stressful and I like using someone elses kitchen! It saves us a ton of money and time, so we can spend that money and time on other things! We do always go out for one "nice dinner". Beyond that, whatever.
I also have a standard set of stuff I bring - foil, ziplocs, Pam, a few spices. I don't go too nuts on it but do try to anticipate so I have what I need and don't have to buy more foil or whatever to bring home later.

To prevent forgetting needed items, I've found it helpful to make out an Excel list of things needed for each trip and modify it for various trips. Less trips to the store and less needed stuff left behind.

We also have a small travel bag that we bring with coffee, filters, some spices and maybe some muffin or cookie mix (nice warm muffins for breakfast one day!). We will usually cook one or two dnners in and maybe a few breakfasts, although breakfast out is one of my favorites.ken H.,Ballston Lake, NY

We prepare most meals in the kitchen (or using the resort grills). We enjoy picking up and preparing local produce and meats; it's one of the little joys of traveling. Also, when we have friends traveling with us, we find the process of preparing meals together is a nice social event.
Plus, fixing our own meals is a good part of what makes timesaharing cost effective for us.“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”
“You shouldn't wear that body.”

we eat in for breakfast and usually dinner about 4 times-- nothing fancy mind you-- but it was what drew us to TS-- it wasn't a hotel room. Lunch is iffy only because we might not be around mid-day....
Now on our trip to Scotland this week they actually had kitchen packs that they would have in your TS if you wanted --with the basics for breakfast and snacks (eggs, bacon, scones crackers, juice etc). We probably should have signed up for it just to see what kind of goodies they would have. But I just couldn't imagine what I would do with a kilo of sugar!!

We don't normally cook, because I like eating out so much......Maybe that's because I would have to buy the food, prepare it, and then clean up, afterward. My DH avoids the kitchen, like the plague.
I do like making drinks in the room, and having stuff to pick on. That's fun.Angela
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
