New To TrendWest Someone please help!

Hi, my father bought a trendwest timeshare with 8,000 annual points 2 years ago, and hasnt used it. He was supposed to go to the class they have but never did on reselling and im trying to help him out, so if anyone could give me info on the process of selling these points, how much it would cost to transfer them to another account, and how you would go about doing all of this i would really appreciate it. All i can really see is that on his account right now he has 16,000 points and can borrow 8,000 from next year, but is 16,000 points only worth .06 which would be $960.00?

If you go on eBay, you will see that Worldmark memberships regularly sell for around $0.65 to $0.75 cents per annual point, depending on how many banked points there are available for immediate use. There is a $150 transfer fee that is usually paid by the buyer.

If you are talking about keeping the membership and just selling the banked points, then $0.06 is not out of line, although you will see them sell to other members for up to $0.10 per point, but often around $0.08 per point.

To sell the membership, he will get about $0.70/pt

To rent/sell his current points to another WM member but keep his membership. He'll get about $0.06/pt. To rent his points, the website which Dawg suggested is best.

Welcome.
Where does your father live? Is he interested in staying at any of the WorldMark resorts?

If he just wants some "rental income" to offset his maintenance fees, he can rent his (currently available) credits to another WorldMark owner. Depending on the expiration date (call Vacation Planning 1-800-457-0103 to find out the expiration date), the credits will rent for between 4 and 6 cents per credit.

Another option is, he can reserve a high demand week at a desirable resort (e.g. New Years in Hawaii, summer week at a coastal resort) and rent out that week. This might bring more dollars than just renting out the credits directly.
