  • Rental Inquirers - Need Help!

I have a 1 week timeshare with Westgates Resort and I was contacted by a company called Equity Marketing Corp. about renting out my timeshare. Has anybody dealt with this company before or has experience in renting out their timeshare? Need help!

Aren't you glad you asked ?

Aren't you glad you asked ?

We have looked up the company's about this issue and they have paid it and re-imbursed customers - this seems like it was for selling timeshares?

They were asking if I could rent out my timeshare to them (not sell or buy)

Have you heard anything about companies renting out timeshares?
      Thanks for your useful information!

        A leopard doesn't change it's spots.

On your other question. There are many people who rent out their timeshares and could probably be more specific, but Redweek.com has agreements and listings where owners can rent or sell their units for a nominal fee. It is also a site that you could frequent if you are looking to buy a unit also.

Maybe you don't understand tonyg's useful information? This is not a company you want to deal with. Any company that contacts you out of the blue asking about renting your timeshare for you is only in it for their listing fee and will never do anything for you. Enjoy your timeshare!
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

If they are asking (if I understand this correctly) to rent your timeshare from you, just as if I wanted to rent a week from you, and they are saying that they will GIVE you money and are not asking for money, that may be worth looking into. But...you have to be able to get the money before releasing the week to them.

If that is not what they are talking about, then that is a different deal.

If you want to rent out your timeshare - do it on your own - a place like Timeshare Rentals, Timeshare Resales, Timeshare Ratings, and Timeshare Reviews - RedWeek.com has low fees and lots of traffic - it will also give u a idea of what a realistic price would be for your unit size and week reserved.
Also 'Google' your resort name and the word 'rental' or 'rent' and see what you see.

As Tony and Spence said - this company will collect from YOU - UP FRONT - a fee to list your week for rent at a ridiculously high price on their website - they will send you the link so u can see where it is 'advertised' and u will never hear from them again.
              End of story!

I'm a bit curious as to how they found you. Maybe I'm just cynical about CFI and their mischievous ways.
