    Question about Timeshare Presentation-

The salesman tell me that I only attend 90 minutes presenation, then I will get free tickets. No need to purchase in order to get the free gift.

If I attend less than 90 min presenation, then I won't get free gift? Is this correct?

The salesman ask me the first question is .....Do you have interest to buy timeshare? Should I have to say Yes? If I say No, will he ask me to leave? Then no gift?

Last time, I say yes. Then he talked talked talked.....It passed 90 minutes, I said I don't buy. No interest. The salesman, manager, staff give me a hard time to leave and hold my gift. Before their face was nice, after I say NO...they are very rude and mean. They look like totaly different person. They scare me. They look like drama king and queen. Is this normal that they always act like this?

I think it 's good to attend presentation because I can get free gifts and know what is the selling price right now. But I feel sad that they are rude , push and hold my gift.

How can I aviod the rude salesman for my next presentation? What is the skill ? And easy to get my gift? Any suggestion?

Suggestion, don't go. You're obviously not interested in buying any more timeshares from the developer and only interested in your 'free' gift. Guess what, they want to sell to you, that's why they offer you gifts.

I wouldn't sit through a timeshare presentation just for the gift unless it was something really worthwhile. Obviously if you tell them from the start that your only there for the gift you are likely to be kicked out. If you do attend tell them that you were told it would be a 90 minute presentation and that is all the time you have available. To drive home the point lay your watch on the table. After 90 minutes say you want your gift and you are leaving. If they argue tell them that if they can't get something as simple as the length of the presentation right you don't believe you can trust anything else they are saying.

Why waste your time? The gift is not worth it, junk.
Don't give them one second of your time. Enjoy your vacation!

They offer the gifts to get you thru the door in HOPES that their sales skills will seal the deal. If it does not they should not withhold the gift or act rude or mean as this member is stating. He has every right to go and sit thru a 90 minute presentation for a free gift with no strings attached. It is expected. The gift may be of no consequence to you or I but may be worth something to him. This was not the help he is asking for.

Nicky, my advice would be to just act calm and pleasant at all times. Sit thru and listen for the 90 minutes. When the time is up and they are trying to get you to buy, say I am sorry but I need to think about it. I do not make any large financial decisions without calling my financial advisor. Be firm calm ask for your gift and walk away.

              Good luck.

We do attend for the "free" stuff, if its worth our while. I will tell them when they ask, that we are not interested and that we were asked to come, we did not do the asking.

Last year in Kona at an SVC presentation, we showed up at 8:30 just like we were supposed to. We were promptly taken in to begin our tour. After a little small talk to get to know us, about 15 minutes, the salesman, asked me what I was interested in. I told him nothing at all. If he could match my last eBay purchase of a timeshare for $2, I would be interested. We talked a couple of minutes about our eBay purchases and then he excused himself. Time so far into our 90 minutes was about 15 minutes. He came back and told us we could be in the "reading program" if we wanted. The "Bosses" said we had to stay the 90 minutes to keep our end of the agreement for the discounts, but they didn't want to waste their energy with the sales pitch that wasn't going any where. We were fine with that, so he gave us the newest RCI book and we "read" it and just had a nice conversation about Hawaii and his family while we waited out our "penance." After about 75-80 minutes they told us we could go. I do not know one thing about the Shell Vacation Club other than it is points based and they saved my family a lot of money for our 80 minutes.

The one and only time we did a Shell tour was at the Beachboy on Kaua'i. It took the sales person about 20 minutes to realize she didn't have a chance of selling us and I knew more about timeshares than she did. She excused herself to get a drink of water and never came back. The sales director came by and explained that our sales person had been "called away on another appointment". After chatting with us for about five minutes (no doubt to confirm that what the sales person had told him about us was true), he sent us away to collect our gifts. No "reading program" and we were out of there in about 30 minutes.

It's not in their interests to tie up a sales person with a "prospect" who isn't going to buy. I'm surprised they had the sales person continue to spend time with you as you were "reading". Every place we've visited that wouldn't let us go early had someone (usually a low productivity sales person) whose sole job was to handle people such as us who are removed from the main sales team.

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                    “You shouldn't wear that body.”
