  • Need help understanding rci points

    Hey there everyone,

I have been a bluegreen weeks member for about 12 years. My home resort is Landmark in Panama Beach FL. This is actually clasified as a points resort by RCI. I have called RCI, Bluegreen and also the home resort and have been able to get any info on how to change my week into points when I trade.

I am hoping to get some advice on this whole situation. When I book my week with BG, if that resort is an RCI points resort can I hot trade that for points resorts.

Obviously I am very confused..... If there is someone out there that can help me understand this whole thing and possible give me some advice as to how to get the best bang for my buck I would really appreciate it.

I am was to buy another week at an already converted points resort can I then trade my existing week in with the points system? Is it possible to simply buy points?

    Any help gladly received

    Hi, welcome to the forum!

It is definitely possible to buy another resort to get into RCI Points, and this is often the most cost-effective option for many people.

As for whether it is possible to convert your Bluegreen unit into RCI Points, I don't know. I also don't know if you can use it in "points-for-deposit" (this is RCI's name for an buying an already converted week and then trading your existing week in RCI Points.) I'd suggest posting about this on the Bluegreen forum here. BocaBum is our resident Bluegreen expert, so he might know.

I don't understand the whole points thing either! I thought that all resorts were available to anyone... you either used your points or you used your week to reserve. Now I am learning that isn't so...

Landmark is an RCI Points resort and has been for several years as I know we stayed for 4 nights using points several years ago. You won't be able to use it for PFD for this reason. This program is only for weeks resorts. I don't know anything about Bluegreen or what they would charge you to convert to points but you should be able to if you want. So even if you buy points at another resort you could not use the Landmark for PFD. I hope this makes sense!
