  • MROP annual scheduling mailing arrived

I got a letter today describing the new scheduling process. No more priorities. Everyone can phone 18 months ahead to make a reservation. 6/30 will be the beginning for everyone for 2009 weeks. A gold membership has a month advantage over everyone else (never heard of gold before, don't see it in the by-laws), home resort has 2 months advantage over everyone else.

Very strange. Don't understand how they can get rid of priorities 1 - 5 since it's in the by-laws...

The board can change bylaws by their own will

Section 15.04 of the bylaws reads

"Authority to change Bylaws. The power to alter, amend, or repeal these Bylawsand adopt new Bylaws shall be vested in the board of Trustees."

The board can make whatever changes they want to, if you disagree with the changes that they make you can only object through legal proceedings or getting someone on the board to champion your issue.

I believe the priorities are written into the articles of incorporation, not just into the by-laws. I'm not sure it's legal to just arbitrarily change them.

Why is it that a board of directors that includes several lawyers does not take the the time to read the articles of incorporation or the bylaws?

          Good question.

Most of the discussion on the MROP issues thus far, has taken place on TUG, probably because there was enough initial discussion there and not here.

Because of that I'd prefer to continue over there on these issues. Most of my viewing and posting time is spent here however.
