Fantastic pics, Doug! Thanks for sharing! My list of places I want to visit just got longer.

Yabebe, don't get discouraged! We definitely can help you, but I believe what Chap is saying, once you learn about timeshares, you will be able to tell if someting might be a good deal, but more importantly, does it suit your needs.

Ask yourself the questions and then start researching timeshares. Not the timeshares themselves but how they relate to trading, renting, and owning. I've owned timeshares for only 6 years and still learn something all the time.

As far as all the acronyms around here, it is a little daunting to figure out what they are.
Maybe that could be my new project, that is unless we already have one I'm not aware of.

If you need to ask questions, do so with a new thread, this way people can respond to the question.

      Again, welcome!

I bought Sands of Kahana 2 bedroom for $4500 a couple of years back. You can buy them on ebay for under $6K. The mfs are very high. I have lots of family and either myself or family will use it every year. With the cost of air fare, etc. My advice to you would to buy an eoy and maybe buy another timeshare on another island for that same year. It would be hard for me to go to Hawaii for just one week. I would also buy floating as things in life always change. I don't put my Hawaii weeks in for trading unless I had no other choice.

I'm with you yabebe...In fact, I found this site after I purchased from a developer...luckily, my husband and I had enough time to cancel so we did the next day after getting sucked in into buying 3500pts for $11k. i'm going to be doing my research before I purchase...i'm looking to buy in the next coming months but I need to educate myself first before I spend my hard-earned money.

I have not always been able to go when I want; but, so far, I have been happy with my RCI exchanges. Most of my exchanges have been into points resorts.
