  • I Rescinded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you to everyone who encouraged and walked me through the rescinsion process. oh yeah...and shooing me away. beags, glitter, and grayfal especially. You folks help save me at least 10,000 dollars. Thank you, thank you, thank you

I followed the contract guidelines very closely and even went above and beyond to make sure the cancellation was clear to everyone involved. I got the original notice of cancellation notarized and then got each copy notarized (by a different notary) as exact copies before I sent them. I even faxed and emailed the cancellation docs along with a copy of the certified mail/return receipt postage as well. I figured I should do something a little drastic because everyone was saying the same thing...make sure you do EXACTLY what the contract says. I was also wanting to cover my but because the developer/sales team sure did lie alot. What kind of operation is that anyway? Are all or most TS resorts like that?

    I can sleep well tonight.

Congratulations! You made a great financial decision, although maybe you went a bit overboard with all the notaries. But who am I to say, since I believed the salespeople when they said I couldn't rescind....?

Most TS salespeople lie a fair bit. I'd like to think that they're not all bad, but that's the way they're trained..... Probably a bit overly optimistic, but I do like to think that most people are basically good. I will say that I've noticed less lying at some of the more upscale resorts I've visited. WM, in particular, was pretty honest, although their calculations are a bit exaggerated on "how much you'll save". The main thing is to go in educated and to stick to your plan if you're going to go to TS presentations. For the most part, we try to avoid them now unless we want to get some information. Then, we try to be pretty up front with them about what our goals are.

I kind of felt bad because I told my friend about this website and he said he wasn't quite sure if he was ready to see how bad he got ripped off.

My parents also just bought a ts from massanutten at a premium price. they are the ones who referred us to the resort. my mom asked me today how we liked it. I didn't want to tell her b/c I know they got taken. I ended up telling her...then I told her about what people on this site had told me about overpaying for their 1st TS but still owning and enjoying them. she was happy in the end but still kind of

I like to be optimistic when dealing with people too. I service car dealerships so I am around car salesmen everyday...there are some honest ones here and there. there are many, many more crooks though

If you are ever in Virginia Beach or live anywhere near, I will be happy to guide you to the best place to purchase a vehicle.

Hang around, you'll be helping out newbies soon enough

There is a guy in Va Beach that owes me a lot of $, can you guide him to a place to purchase a lemon?

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

                        Good on ya !

Now, if you're still in the t/s market, look around and if you'd like, bounce it off on us.

There are some great bargains out there and with some research, patience and timing, you can get something that will really work for you depending on the different ways to utilize your unit; personal use, trade, rental, etc.

Think of Glitter, GrayFal, ArtsieAng, Emmy and me, Beags, as your older (slightly ! ) sisters who just want the best for you !

So, shoo, go on, find something ! Report back !

All operations aren't like that. Only the ones where the sales people breathe or where their lips move
