  • Thanks! To the mystery man who told me about resale TS

Just a little story for all you great & wise TS owners.

My family and I were at a resort with my bother & sister n law,I beleive in late July 2007, somewhere about 1 hour from Pigeon Forge, TN. (I'm sorry I don't remember the name). They had purchased their TS through Fairfeild while on a tour.
While out in the park area swinging the kids a gentlman was out with his own child. After a little casual talking he asked if I was an owner, I laughed out loud and told him their was no way we could afford to be owners but were guest of owners. That is when he started sharing a great story about resale and how he had bought his ownership at that resort off of e-bay and what a great price he had paid. I thought it was to good to be true, keeping in mind what I knew my bother was paying. So I stuck our conversation away in the back of my head not giving it much more thought.
Several months later I started selling on e-bay in order for our family to continue taking vacations but not take away from our regular bill paying income. About 2 months ago this gentlemans conversation came back to me, so I looked it up on e-bay, watched for a while and finally bid! I Won!! We are very excited about our next vacation in our new resort later this year. Something I thought a year ago was out of our reach. Thank you to whoever this mystery man is and who knows it could be one of you great & wise TS owners.
Thank you all for sharing your wisdom and advice with me!

That is a nice tale - especially since you heeded his advice and at the right time, used it.
So many people DON'T listen to what others say - and check it out to see if it is true - before making a BIG financial decision/commitment.

I am happy it has worked out for you....soon, we will have you looking for your NEXT purchase

This is such a great story. I am so happy you are fulfilling a dream you thought was unattainable. I am lucky as well-I studied timeshare for quite some time before I bought-thus all my purchases have been resale. I have already made one small mistake but luckily managed to sell it for more than I paid. You can't do that retail.
Congratulations and enjoy your family vacations. Making memories is what it is all about.

        nice story.

Now with a commitment to vacation, you may want set a financial goal to accumlate enough to pay the MF and your travel bill, and start saving that way. You can think this is as you bought retail So you don't jump in and buy more immediately.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

OP - have fun, you'll never stop learning. I've bought (and sold) many timeshares that did and didn't work for me. Learning all the way. After nine years of resale timesharing I have bought retail twice in the past year! You can bet that it was an educated decision that benefited me greatly.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

Annual deeded property @ Sunterra Resorts Plantation at Fall Creek (Branson) week #42, but reads floating red week's 21-43, with a MF of $489.10 It also says Resort also exchanges with RCI, Prime Location and Gold Crown status giving maximum trading ability. (not sure what all that means). This was sold by svacationman and my paperwork is being handled by timeshare freedom inc. I paid $120.00 for bid, $199.00 for closing, $100.00 for transfer fee,

Thanks for bailing me out of that one Grayfal, that's what I meant! Compared to a Marlin Brando type. No offense intended for those looking to deep into my simple mind. I took the liberty to edit my wording as to not be misunderstood.
