  • What are my options?

I bought a week 28 on eBay about 2 months ago, and followed up with the closing company today to find out they are waiting for some tax thing before the deed can be recorded. My other 3 timeshares all closed in about 4-6 weeks, and so far this has been 8 and I'm not sure how long it will take.

Anyhow, what are my options? I see in some listings that if the seller has banked the week with RCI it can be transferred? I don't have RCI (only use II so far) but could I still go this route if I joined RCI?

Are there any similar options in II?

Otherwise, I guess I'll have to rent the week to recover my MFs??

    TIA!

    Hello! dvcforus
I'm sorry I can not help with this question due to the fact I am waiting on the deed to my very first TS myself. Just out of curosity I'm waiting for my deed through Timeshare Freedom Inc. Is that who you are dealing with or have you ever dealt with them? I purchased off of e-bay also. I will be watching to see what some of the more experienced owners suggest for you, they have been very helpful to me!

I purchased through VI Network and they were great. They use Timeshare Closing Services who have also handled my other 3 closings, I think the state must have odd requirements...?

Did you buy from the same seller? Is it the same closong company?

Did you try calling him to ask approxomately how long it usually takes this resort or closing co. to close?

I know sometimes some resorts take longer than others to close, such if the need a ROFR.
Does the unit trade with both II and RCI?

I assume you can't use the week this year, so maybe you could ask them to deposit the week in II for you.

This is what I was wondering, can the seller do this in II or only RCI? Is there a cost associated with it?

According to II, II will not accept the 2008 week unless it is in your name.

christnme, 2 to 4 months is fairly typical and 90 days is about average. Yes there is a cost to bank a week. But they may with their access to lots of inventory get you something that would work for your vacation. Call and ask, but do not demand. Mention that you will leave a great ebay positive feedbak if they can help you

At timeshare Freedom ask for Tammy Vonier. I bought something a little over a week ago and she was very helpfull and professional in helping me get some weeks reserved to rent out.

dvcforus, in regards to the VI group try to contact Ed Lugo if you need something done over at VI. I bought from Mike Saylor who is with that group and I found Mike to be very helpfull and accomadating in getting certain things I needed done PDQ.
