Spence, I have not used this site, but it has the EXACT same rentals as VRBO. I checked two of the places I rented last summer through VRBO, and they are same.

Yes, the inventory is a subset of that found on VRBO, a VRBO lister ops to be listed on iTravex also. So, it is an exchange system between anyone who has a VRBO listing that 'qualifies.'
In corresponding with another iTravex member, I got this message.
Hello,
This is iTravex Customer Support. While reviewing our internal system for quality purposes, we see that you have expressed that your experience while trying to utilize the iTravex program, has not been of a positive one. We apologize and would like to take a moment of your time to provide you with information that will best assist you with completing an iTravex reservation.
We have had over 1,000+ reservations completed through iTravex and the number of reservations is growing every month as more members learn about iTravex and utilize it.
We have members that have made only (1) inquiry and completed a reservation. We have had members make (20) inquiries and complete none. There is quite a variance in success for several reasons.
How and when you travel will influence the ability of a member to complete a reservation. iTravex was primarily designed to fill in the off season vacancies and last minute vacancies of a property. For example your place would have been empty otherwise. Otherwise any property owner will have regular rentals as their top priority as expected. For this very reason, we strongly suggest 10-30 Inquiries for this very reason. We see some members who are seeking a reservation during a popular period for a destination submit 50+ in order to receive a variety of 'Open Reservation' offers.
Making inquiries to properties that are available during these off peak and last minute times should result in a high degree of success. However, making inquiries 2-6 months of an arrival and during peak season for a resort would probably result in a minimal degree of success.
If you are flexible in your destination, you will also have a higher level of success. For example if you want to go to Kissimmee, FL only, it might be more of challenge than going anywhere to Orlando and area.
Therefore we would have to say that your traveling habits will most likely dictate the amount of success you will have making a reservation.
Have you had the opportunity to review properties listed on the 'Happy To Host' feature page? This particular page lists thousands of properties that are eager to host as most of these members have used the program and would like to rebuild their points so that they may take another trip.
The link above can also be found just above the pictures in the black bar on the iTravex site.
Since the 'Happy To Host' page is quite large, please use your CTRL+F feature to type in the keyword eg: 'Florida' to find this particular state's listings.
If you have any comments or questions please direct them through the 'Customer Service' link at the top of this page.
The message from iTravex is pretty accurate. We've lucked out 3 times in using them with rentals on the beach in San Juan (last minute) Key West (in June) and Orlando (May). In each case, we selected several properties, the owners of the majority of which never responded, with most of those that did responding 'no'. However, as the letter points out, the key is to be flexible, look for 'likely' weeks, and 'ready offers'. Also be prepared to pay cleaning fees (usually around $100), and 10% of the value of the rental to iTravex.
That being said, we save significantly on our rentals most years, have yet to be disappointed, and we also fill off-season weeks that would otherwise, in all likelyhood go vacant.
To date, we've had good experience w/iTravex, and when we have questions, they're prompt with answers.
