Of course, when Manhattan Club started charging a mandatory daily cleaning fee, that was applied retroactively as well. So, I guess I'm disappointed but not surprised.

Yea. GRAYFAL,
the Manhattan club is only affliated with RCI, and the Penthouse suites are only affliated with 11, there or only 24 Penthouse suites, the Manhattan club owners can't use the penthouse suites amenities, like the two roof top decks, or penthouse library, or even the two penthouse elevators from the 26 floor up as they required penthouse keys to opperate
Penthouse owners can use all facility,
Penthouse are about 700sq ft each but because of the size of the 2 bathroom most living space is no biger than the regular 1 bedroom suites, but they come with computer in room, turn down service with nitly nite caps,
they are nice and plush
the 1 x 4 does not apply to the penthouse suites, only the Manhattan club
RCI also don't inforce the 1 x 4 rules,the Resort does

I decided to get what I heard on the phone about being able to keep my September exchange in writing. Here's my response, which is great for my purposes, but it's pretty funny. Also directly contradicts what the OP was told, shocking.
Hello,
Thank you for your e-mail.
The one in four year rule has always been in effect for The Manhattan
Club. This was not a recent addition in March.
Your September reservation is okay to keep because you were not aware of
this rule before now. Going forward you will need to wait to travel
back to The Manhattan Club for four more years.
Thank you for the opportunity to address your inquiry.

RCI points and the 1 in 4 rule
Hi all:
If you have a points/week account does the 1:4 rule apply if you book using points on the points side?
I assume that if you try to book a week from the weeks side and try to use points, the rule will apply.
Do these weeks appear very often doing point searches and is there an equivalent bulk banking on the points side?
This was very sad news as our last visit in May 07 to the MC was our best to date. What a let down! We're really going to miss going every other year.

They are there but pricey and stingy. Not a bulkbank scenario.Lawren

Oh, wait, I don't own anything in RCI strong enough to trade for The Manhattan
Club anyway. I'd be lucky to get Branson in November from RCI Weeks. Nevermind!

OK, I'm totally confused. I booked 2 rooms back in 1/08 for 11/08 and now was looking at booking for 2009 (anytime), but just noticed that 1-4 rule. I'm a RCI Points member, only looking at booking 1-2 nights each visit as I live in Maryland, so does the 1-4 rule apply to me (as some posts said it doesn't)? If so that sucks
Do you know where I can verifiable info, as I would like to book in 2009, but don't want to waste my time/money/points if I can't and get there only to find they won't honor my points exchange.
