Welcome to timeshareforums, Charlie. Hope you stick around as you seem to have a lot of "insider" knowledge to share. I think that we can all learn from each other. And don't worry about the rough start...some of us have had rougher and continued on to become valuable members of our community.

Thanks for the kind words. And yes, I have insider knowledge AND no love for the way timeshare is marketed. Just call off the dogs.
I call 'em the way I see 'em.Those who tell don't know and those who know don't tell....

Guess I lucked out....it was Sheraton Vistana Resort
And BTW, I can see that owners here are well educated and do know what they are doing, however I can bring certain knowledge to this forum about what goes on behind closed doors, as can anyone who has been in the business......so let's all chill out. Not all salespeople are bad; in fact to an extent everyone practices the art of selling on a daily basis although you may not realize that.
Glad to see you here.

Fair enough. However concealed weapons with a license are legal in NV. Not to mention lots and lots of desert........
Charlie,
Welcome to TS4M's
Just a word of caution.....Talking weapons, and desert to Tony may not be the best idea. He's been known to have years of experience with a shovel, if you know what I mean.Angela
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Thanks for the warning but I do pack heat for self defense only.
I am curious...just how many moderators are there on this BB? Sounds like many chiefs and few Indians. Those who tell don't know and those who know don't tell....

As many as we can get. The hours are long and the pay---there is none - no commission, no salary draw, no opc fees, nada.

I swear I was just going to check out the site for 90 minutes and the next thing I knew I signed up to be a moderator. I had no intention of making a committment but BigFrank was pretty persausive. Then before I was able to back out, seven days had gone by and I was obligated for life. I still haven't figured out how to tell my children that some day they too will be moderators."A man that doesn't spend time with his family, can never be a real man" The Godfather

I think we all have similar stories...

It is not even not one of the higher demand week 52's in the II demand index that you can check seeing that you say that you own in II.
Your knowlegde of the timeshare resale market judging from your posts seems very limited and lacking for one that has strong opinions about resales.
What timeshare developer group or groups did you work for and for how long?
Please tell the group what FAB means.
The body scathers are not the major problem. Most timeshare sales are set up the the resort developer so many of these com[panies stink from the head down.

Sorry, but LV is a very easy trade, I only use blue or white weeks to trade into there for the so called high demand LV weeks. I will define high demand weeks in LV as the weeks that the higher amounts of RCI Points are needed for the same sized units compared to other weeks.

LV is usually an easy trade EXCEPT on a holiday. Bear in mind there are only 12-15 (give or take) timeshares so they do fill up. It's not like Orlando. And forget NYE. Rooms at the resorts go for $700-1000. As I'm sure you know, they close the strip to cars and it becomes like Times Square. Usually 400-500K people mulling around. Fireworks, the whole 9 yards. Even Freemont is packed.
I worked for Worldmark for on the floor and Pacific Monarch doing uowner upgrades on the phone. I also worked as an OPC for Bluegreen at the Bass Pro Shop. I no longer work in the business. Reason: too piss poorly run for my taste, from the closers on up. If you want details, PM me.
Sounds like you know a lot about resales and probably more than me. But I know more about what goes on behind closed doors than anyone who has never worked in the business. That is fact pal.
FAB is a sales term for features, advantages and benefits. Never heard that expression in any other context.
Lastly, the OPC is where the fun begins. Whether or not the whole process stinks from the head down, which I agree it does. They are paid to get bodies on the bus and will do so any way possible. I taped one of the Worldmark pitches, that was confirmed, played it back for the powers that be, and nothing! They have no shame. Those who tell don't know and those who know don't tell....
