    America's Most Visited Tourist Sites - ForbesTraveler.com

    Ranking the most popular attractions

The Forbes Traveler 25 Most Visited U.S. Tourist Attractions list pits the spectacles of nature against the drama of the man-made. While our list includes the thundering falls of Niagara, it also features the harrowing water-chutes of Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

Our research suggests that tourists appreciate renowned art collections and sunny beaches in equal measure. Each year, roughly the same number of visitors (about 4.5 million in 2006) explore the hallowed halls of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art as wile away their days off on the sands of Honolulu’s Waikiki Beach.

Well, I've been to 7 of those 25 and will see two more of them next year. This from a couple that doesn't like crowds. Guess maybe we tolerate crowds better than we thought.

I've visited 16, including 8 of the top 10. I know many of you have visited them all at one time or another, but I'm still pretty impressed.

It was interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. I've been to 22 of those sites. Probably since I've lived in Los Angeles, New Jersey, Florida and Hawaii.

I have been to 15. I was really on a roll, visited the first 11, then, it really slowed down.

I've been to all except Universal and Sea World in Orlando, and Cape Cod if you can believe it. I guess that I need to work on that Cape Cod trade, and hit Sea World when I'm in Orlando over Thanksgiving. I'll wait until the little one gets a few years older for Universal.

Been to 15 of them and most of the misses are NY / NJ which I have little to no desire to ever see again. Only been to NYC twice (not counting changing planes) and that's sufficient.

                  Cheers

I was quite nicely surprised when I read this yesterday ~ have only missed a handful of these ~ some to be taken care of later this year.

Was quite the interesting post. Thanks for pointing this out!

Only 12 and several of those I haven't visited since I was a kid so I doubt they even count. Couple others I will probably pass on. Ironically, the easiest ones for me to visit are among those that I haven't been to: Metropolitan Museum, the American History Museum and the Delaware River Area. Truth be told, I don't even know where the last one is.

I guess the next time I take the wife up to NYC, I'll have to head to the museums.

Been to 18 of them. The 7 I've missed aren't really high on my list of places to go, so I'll probably not get there. Interesting list.
