  • anyone own at williamsburg plantation?

I am contemplating getting a ts here but not sure if the trade power is as good as they say it is, what else is new, but if it is good I will get it here.
Does anyone have a red week around April or May 2 (1 bedrroms) tri-ennual? what could you trade into recently anything worth writing about. Also did you buy it from developer or on the resale market...

Also do you own the platinium package and I will assume you receive the vacation village $99 internal trade deals whether you get it through the developer or resale. another uestion they are offering 3 BW's (1 each year above the 2 1-bedrooms every 3 years) I tlike the idea of the 3 years so maintenance fees stay low, I like the 3 BW's as long as my II membership doesn't lapse. I like the resort, the price offered was $3990.00 with their platinium package which they claim alone is worth $10K, (I don't believe that), but for anyone whose bought resale did you get the platinium too..access to the golf courses for just the green fees, unlimited use of the amenities whether you stay at the plantation or not, same for the golf privileges. Just curious. Point of this TS was for trading and staying not to far from home - my other TS are too far for a days drive.

    Thanks, Silvia.

I own there but it's a 2br. floating week and I always reserve the week of July 4 or the following week for depositing with II. Those weeks trade rather well, not sure how good April/May would be, but I do remember renting an April or May week a few years ago in Williamsburg for $ 99 from RCI- so I would imagine the trading power isn't very good.
Williamsburg PLt. waa acquired by the same group that has the Vacation Villages (Westin ?) which is all RCI affiliated while WPL is II affiliated. Not a great fit !

Hi Wackymother - thanks I will ask in TUG also.

Hi TonyG - I would imagine that July 4th week would be a good trader. This year I think the week they offered me was good because it was during spring break, but spring break changes every year. Do you have the platinium club membership?? what does that really mean??? or is it another one of those perks that everyone gets but it sounds good to tell the customer - potential owner??

I called II about the Bonus weeks and they didn't understand what I was saying, They said they do give AC's but this resort hasn't had one offered since 2004. That could be because they are giving them to the owners that are buying automatically. My offer was a bw every year for as long as I don't miss a days membership in II, I "purchased a tri-ennial" 1 bedroom X 2 (not a 2 bedroom lockoff) for $3990.

The other benefit is extended to only WP owners ($99 internal trades), which not sure if I believe that, though it is available to those who buy resale. Do other vacation village resorts owners get the $99 internal trade???

The affinity program is offered to anyone who is in vacation village network, also available to those who buy resale.

I don't think the price is outrageous if the BW offer is indefinite (which I called them and they said it's for as long as I own and am an active owner - no lapses in payments - etc). The other benefits with the platinium mentioned but not seen in writing were privileges to the area golf couses even if you are not staying at the resort. You still need to pay green fees but at a member price and will be allowed to golf there. NOw this means nothing to me but my brother in law may like to golf in ford's colony or one of the other ones.

Another question I have is - the sales person mentioned that WP was one of the "championship" resorts, a name given to the top 25 resorts, when asked what the other 24 were she obviously couldn't up with them. But when I asked II they didn't understand me either. does anyone know what this means and if it's true??

        Thanks, Silvia.

I have no idea what the platinum club is, but it sounds similar to the Gold Card mularkey they spewed in the 90's. I get an AC every time I deposit (by contract). I've never heard of or been offered internal trades. Our week is every year. I would happily sell it for $ 2 k. I've seen a triennial on Ebay that got bids of under $ 500.

            Tony,

Did you buy direct from the developer? Is that why you get an AC everytime you deposit (by contract)?

                What is the gold program?

The BW is yearly irregardless of if I deposit or not..When I spoke to the II customer service he said they hadn't given an AC since 2004. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about but so did my sales person. Did you get the gold with that pruchase or was it extra? If you did what does it entitle you to?

TonyG, you may want to call the vacation village number and ask about the internal trade program since you as a Williamsburg Plantation owner should be eligilble. To vacation village and other affiliates (1-866-vvr-away), since you own I think you are eligible, also did you know about the affinity program, get your friends and family to take the weekend trip and they get $100 and you get $100 for every one that goes to the presentation. The sales person said you could put it in a laundrymat and all these people need to do is take the free weekend and sign up for the sales pitch, they get $100 and you get $100, redeemable twice a year for CASH, which they say could end up paying for your MF, but could be used for anything you want (deposit it in the bank if you'd like). This also piqued my interest and pulled me into the wow it may not be so bad after all, but this program can be used by those who bought on the resale market..it is promotions for them so why not..

I would have to look it up to know exactly what was included, but I do remember it gave the use of the resort amenities anytime and a discount at selected places. If golf was involved, I wouldn't have had any interest - so I wouldn't remember.

I do not own here, but I thinks it is the second largest resort in Williamsburg between Powhatan Vacation Resort in turn of units.
