    An incomplete picture...

    [QUOTE=GeoPatSK;242785]A Goldman Sachs analyst said late Wednesday (6/18) that low double-digit timeshare sales growth may be achievable in 2008.
    ================================================== ===

    The "analyst" apparently considers and acknowledges only corporate-direct sales . This limited and incomplete view is really only a small part of the bigger timeshare market picture. Surely, it would be naive (at best) to believe that the resale market does not / will not directly impact the corporate-direct sales picture, particularly in a weak and worsening economy.
    Just my personal observation and opinion...

      Perhaps, but it hasn't yet.

      The spread between resale and developer seems to be due more to market inefficiency and lack of transparency rather than economic conditions.

        That will be quite achivement. Of the 4 major public trading companies, all except Bluegreen has post -10% to -20% growth in 1 Qt compare to 2007 1Qt. Bluegreen is less than .5% increase in growth in 1QT.

        Will see their results in 2Q Aug. But with high airline ticket, and based on RCI availability, I would be very doubt their sale volumns, and thus their sale figure. Unless they find a way to improve their current sale process.

          Frankly I think the analyst needs an analyst. Though timesharing is an cost saving alternative to owning a second home, I doubt that very many people are considering a major purchase in this economy.
