Do ya think we could do gas just like we do stamps?
Pay for a pre-purchase gas cards say in units of $100 and lock in at the current listed price. Gas doesn't go down much but goes up a lot. Each day they seem to say, " broke the record today."
Bet the oil companies would say we can't do that !

There is a gas station in a near by town that has that type program set up. Some people pre-paid for gas several years ago, so are still paying less than $3.00 for gallon. I don't know how the station could do it, but they sure have some happy customers.

        Cheep Gas

There is a place in St. Cloud, MN called the Minnesota Gas Cooperative, also known as the fuel bank. It started several years ago. With a small deposit you could lock up to 10 years of gas at a fixed price. Some early adopters are still paying under $1.00/gal.

Saw a thing on local news last night about a ethanol converter you can buy. The thing takes water, sugar and outputs ethanol. The claim is gas for under $1.00 a gallon. Of course the device costs $10000 which makes it a little impractical for an individual but apparently is selling well to those with fleets of trucks/cars.

          Here's a link.

            Look at the electric costs

The problem with Ethanol is that the ingredients might cost less that a $1.00 a gallon. But the cost of fuel or electricity needed to distill it will cost you nearly $3.00/ a gallon. I sure the $1.00 figure quoted does not include the electric costs, which here in the Northeast are at $.35/Kwh.
