  • Stroman Complaints

A major state agency contacted me for information on complaints about Stroman.

If you have had a bad experience with Stroman, let me know and I will give you the email address to send it.

Which one? Stroman had a couple of big set backs in the last month with the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals where they reversed and set aside the injunctions he had obtained against California, Florida and Arizona because it held that the US District Court in Texas did not have jurisdiction over the Attorney Generals of those states.

Ha! I beat 'em. I found the owner(theu the HOA) and bought direct. Avoided their closing costs and the owner didn't pay the commission.

I was wondering what happened to those lawsuits. I am not surprised that the 5th Circuit reversed the District Court.

The District Court actually issued a long opinion about restraint of trade and the various states' actions violating the Commerce Clause of the US Constitution. Quite well written.

The appeal court's reversal was basically on a "technicality" even though there is no such thing. It held the contacts that the various attorney generals had made with Texas against Stroman were not sufficient to establish long arm jurisdiction over them.

This has been going on for several years.

At least it is . . . going on . . . which is more than you can say about most of the sleaze in the industry.

I wonder how long it will take an agency to determine that telling folks stuff is worth $25,000 and going up every year, when the same stuff on the Internet has a hard time fetching a buck, is misrepresentative.

If you want to learn about Stroman's business model, you should read the original District Court opinion and the appeal court's opinions.

What's the name of their closing attorney?

                        Dewey, Cheatem and Howe?
                        - - - - - -
It's been a long time since I told our story, and most of the folks are new since I last did.

We were buying two weeks. I sent a $500 check (call it whatever you want) to Stroman, made out to them. They sent it to a closing attorney in GA. I never gave my permission to send my money to someone else nor did they inform me they were going to.

The closing attorney stole all the money in the escrow account.

Stroman would not respond to my questions about what was taking so long. They would not tell me what had happened. They did not offer to cut or forgo their commission. They asked us to pay a little more and the seller to take a little less.

Once we found out what had happened, Stroman never did attempt to recover our deposit or make it right in any way.

Then, when we wanted to sell our Wastegate crap, I pursuaded them to handle it, with no listing fee, because of their screwup. Several times I called them pretending to be a buyer, saying I was interested in that week, but they never had one available!!!

No intellectual integrity, so they came up with their own closing outfit. Was it rice and rice or rice, rice and more rice. And now there's a rice shortage !
I swear I saw an office for Dewey, Cheatham and Howe in Lincoln/ Woodstock New Hampshire. I'll have to check them out when I go there at the end of this summer.
