  • New Timeshare Rentals/Resales Website Coming soon

    Hi all,

BigFrank has been kind enough to let me announce the coming of a new TS rentals/resales site in the fall as well as allowing me to put a request out to all of you TS fans out there. Here goes...

I am designing a website that will essentially go head to head with the main TS rental/resales sites that are out there (Redweek, MyResortNetwork etc..) only it will be a lot cheaper (for the users) and hopefully a lot better in functionality and layout (but that will be for you to decide). The site will stick to rentals and resales (so no exchanges) but will offer a whole new series of options and searches that hopefully you will like.

The main thing about the site will be that it is intended to be super responsive to what you guys want so you will be encouraged to criticise it (constructively hopefully) as much as possible so that I can turn it into what you want most. I am a multiple week owner myself

The site will link directly to these forums to allow users who are attracted to the site access to all the great info available on here and hopefully add to the community feel. As an owner myself I wish I had found these forums before I paid the developer for my first two weeks...but that's another story.

For the first few months (exact timing is undecided) the site will be free of subscription fees or posting fees (6 month postings only) so you will all be able to post all of your rentals or resales (or both) for free.

Now comes my request. To make this site truly good and representative of the resorts we own and use I need good quality photos to display on the site and I do not intend to settle for some of the poorer photos some of the other sites settle for (not if I can help it anyway). I therefore propose to give every user who sends in a photo that I use on the site a year’s free membership to the site (maximum one membership per user and starting when the original free period ends), together with a credit for the photo (either under the photo itself or on a credits page). All submitted photos will need to come with a comment allowing me to use it on the site and confirming that you have the right to grant me permission to use the photo.

I would dearly love to know what you all think of these ideas and if you do wish to participate then please email me or PM me here as I don’t want to clog up the forums. Naturally, please ask any questions you wish and I will be more than happy to answer them (if I can!).

Thanks for taking the time to read this

    Ziggy

Welcome to the forum Ziggy and hopefully your forum name and name will not be held against you. We once had a nasty female Ziggy(among other names) on the internet timeshare forums that eventually was banned from 3 forums (that I know of).

I've heard about this 'Ziggy' and so I've actually never used that name on a forum for that very reason but I thought it was only right to use the name people know me by with a posting like that one. Thanks for having me here...I'm really looking forward to this.

Oh...and for the avoidance of doubt...I'm a guy!

As part of the whole website creation I'll be in Vegas in a couple of weeks visiting all the timeshares and taking photos so if anyone has anything they'd like me to look into/ask at the front desk then just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Don't waste film on the Old Summer Bay resort if you are going there in the next couple of months. Ask to tour the new units that are to be opened this October or November accross the street from the Old Summer Bay.

Thanks for the tip, I've got a few people who've already asked me to look into Summer Bay so it should be interesting to see what they're building and how well they're meeting their deadlines.

Not a problem at all That's one I'm looking forward to myself as, despite over 10 visits to Vegas, I've never been inside the Flamingo. I'll have my laptop with me so I'll try and give updates as I get them so people can ask follow up questions (and I'll try to get follow up answers!).

                  Ziggy,

TUG has a free listing site as it is and they get a huge visitor rate. So, other than putting listings up with cool features, what is your value proposition? Timeshare Giant tried to create a competitive alternative to Redweek, Myresortnetwork, VacationTimeshareRentals and they get almost no page views.

What is your strategy for getting visitors to your site? Do you have a multi-million dollar advertising budget? Do you have some type of Search Engine Optimization company you are aligned with that will give you thousands of free back links to your site? Do you get free advertising somewhere?

The answers to those questions would be really interesting to me.

Thanks. Good luck in the new venture.

                    Hi Jim

I've answered your questions by email as when I looked at it the post looked very long and I didn't want to take liberties on here. If anyone else wants the answers to the questions then I'll be only too happy to email/PM them to you.

On a separate note I was advised last night to look you up as you had experience of this before...looks like you beat me to it

LOL. Thanks for the responses. My technology strategy is no where nearly as robust as yours. Where my site is going next is really focused on the backend for rental automation. Paperwork is what kills you in a rental business.

If you want to team on some concepts, I am open to it.

I'm always open to bringing in other people's ideas...that's where I think Redweek falls down

If anyone else has any ideas then please let me know..the more the better
