What we liked about the unit was the huge floor to ceiling windows that looked out onto the Vegas strip and that it had a very large 2 bedroom master suite and a lock-off unit that was a full 1 bedroom unit rather than a studio unit. This gave us the best of both worlds. A great 2 bedroom unit with a view and a full 1 bedroom unit to play with as an exchange.
    That is a great unit!

I personally would avoid Vail because of the high MFs and the possibilty of the resort being dumped by Marriott as certain sections were not built by Marriott.

Wacky, not all Marriott properties have ROFR.

I like Pat's strategy of 2 bed l/o EOY - you get the benefits of a 2 bed trade if you want, a one bedroom yearly if you split and A/Cs ! PLUS !! only eoy mfs !
      What a country !!!

Here's the one on ebay: MARRIOTT GRAND CHATEAU LAS VEGAS NEVADA TIMESHARE - eBay (item 140247577957 end time Jul-12-08 21:50:00 PDT)

What is week 14 in Las Vegas ? Silver ? Gold ?

Thank you for your input. Highly valued !
All weeks in Vegas are Platinum with NYE being Platinum Plus. It was one of the benefits of owning in Vegas. Plus, we generally go to Vegas at least once a year so it's a unit we'll use.

IMO, the two bedroom units are smallish and, since they're location is in the middle of the towers, something will most likely be built in front of MGC blocking their views.

The three bedrooms units are at the very end of the towers and literally wrap around the ends. The towers will be built in an X formation so the ends will always look out and should have a view between any buildings put in front of them. I would not personally own a 2 bedroom unit because of their location in the towers and for the fact they LO into a 1 bedroom an a smallish studio unit. The three bedroom unit will LO into a full two bedroom unit and a full 1 bedroom unit plus, all but 2 windows in the 3 bedroom unit are floor to ceiling and provide wonderful views. The two bedrooms have a floor to ceiling window in the master bedroom but I believe that's about it.

Here's a link to our photo albums of MGC. They include photo's of our 3 bedroom units and a 1 bedroom unit. The 1 bedoom unit was an exchange where we deposited the 1 bedroom LO and exchanged back into the resort. The traditional 1 bedroom unit is larger than the 1 bedroom LO of the 3 bedroom unit so it's not representitive of what you would get with the LO portion of the 3 bedroom unit.

I got a call from the broker re: WSJ, the correct info is week 32 (August early) and the MF is 1700/yr.

          2 bed/2 bath, bay view.

          Hmmmm. The plot thickens...........

Well, I just "pulled the trigger" and did something, made an offer.

Will tell you soon, but don't want to "tip my hand", yet.

It probably won't be accepted, but "nothing ventured, nothing gained".

Have to close, have run out of sayings !

You mean you "ran it up the flagpole to see who salutes"? How did you miss that one?

                  Yes, I did !

I do not want to say anything yet as I'd "never count my chickens before they hatched".

                    Well, REJECTED !!

I put in an offer to buy a Branson Marriott EOY Plat, but was outbid.
These aren't easy to find and I looked.

                    I will reconsider things now.

Beags, No one has mentioned Palm Desert area. This platinum Shadow Ridge lockoff was an absolute steal for whoever got it. Assumes it will pass ROFR.

Take your time. It always seems that things work out a certain way for a reason.

I am so glad that you mentioned this resort as I have wondered about it.
I'm assuming that Plat weeks are not summer weeks? (Yes, but it's a dry heat !)
                          Gordon, thanks !

Notice that the winning bidder has a minus 1 feedback rating!

I like the 3BR layout. However, I personally wouldn't buy one because I read that II doesn't give out ACs for Grand Chateau deposits. Given Beags is using this to trade, this doesn't maximize the ownership.

Beags, the EOY Plat Branson should be about $2500-2800 plus closing costs
