I have two floating 1-52 weeks at Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort. I have only one of them with II at the present, but looking to see if I could add the second week. Does anyone have two floating weeks at the same resort with II? And if so, does that cause any problems? Could be somewhat confusing to the the highly skilled and talented Vacation Reps.

Yes, I do......No, no problem at all. Each is treated independently, and I have never had any issues with this, after having this situation for a number of years.Angela
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I have three Villas of Sedona floating weeks that I deposit with II, and occasionally I will get an intellectually challenged VC who can't figure it out at first, but it has never been any serious problem. The resort seems to watch things very closely and makes sure that each week is treated separately by II.

I do this: if I choose to deposit a week, for the first week, I have II deposit a "supplemental week" from that resort. Same as a regular week, but II's computer doesn't know it is my week from that resort. This allows me to continue to search with my second week if I want too.Bill

We own two different units at the Ridge Tahoe and it was no problem at all!
II was really great and not only added it but extended our membership on both through 2010. The first unit was up in 2009 and they moved everything to 2010 for us without me asking.
You do need to be careful when using your II acct to make sure you deposit or what ever with the right unit but this would be the same if your on your resort acct also!

I'm not sure if I read this right but.....
I remember reading once, that if you were
to own (for example) a 2 bedroom
unit with a lock-off, you could split the
one unit, you own, into two different
weeks.
Lets say you own a 2 bedroom unit
with a lock-off. You could request
two seperate weeks with a 1 bedroom
unit.
If you own a 3 bedroom unit with a
lock-off, you could request three
different weeks for 1 bedroom units.
If you own a 3 bedroom unit with
a lock-off, you could request two
weeks: one week you request a
two bedroom unit, and the second
week you request a 1 bedroom unit.
Almost like stating, however many rooms
your unit has, you can divide it by as many
weeks as you like. As long as it is a lock-off.
I would recomend you look into it though.
I wouldn't want to give any wrong info out.
I just remember reading this before...
and as much as I understood it.
Check to see if what you own is a lock-off.
You may already be able to make a nother
week happen without paying for another week.

It is always important to know what you can do with a lock-off. I don't know of any 3br. units that split into 3 1br. units, but there may be one or more. Many lockoff units actually lose size when split and sometimes some of the split-offs are not acceptable for deposit. A 3br. may be split, but may only be done as a 2 br. and a studio in some cases. One 2 br. I once owned split, but only one part was depositable as a 1 bedroom- so you either deposited the whole 2br. or a one bedroom and did something else with the second half of the unit.

I can not talk for all resorts but as far as I understand it II can not do anything.
We can split our two bedroom but it has to be done when we book our weeks at our resort. Also there is a charge for splitting the unit.
At this point you can deposit or request first the unit you want to use for a exchange. If your using both units for two different exchanges you would then need to pay twice to II because these are two different exchanges.
We would be exchanging a one bedroom sleeps four with kitchen and living room, dining room and second unit would one be a studio that sleeps two!

That's good info.
I didn't think of that.
Well....that kinda sucks.
it seams as though they
will nickle and dime you every
way you can.
It's too bad they woun't do
some favors without charging
you. Of course, that's their business.
They charge you to use them
to split, rent, exchange, and so on.
Not to mention....you put a lot of
money down to buy the timeshare,
even in resale!
Then you have to pay those maintnance
fees which don't include any major dammage,
some don't even include the real estate
tax.
Oh!.....And then, in some places, they
have you pay service fees. like
$20 or $30 per day you stay.
Boy. Even if you do get a bargan to
have a nice vacation, everywhere you
turn to have a service, there's a
charge.
How much do you think
you come out ahead?

It works out if you want two vacations and are willing to stay in a studio. We would never stay in a studio so breaking up the unit doesn't make since for us.
Last year the resort talked us into this and we exchanged our one bedroom and let the resort rent the studio for Presidents ski week in Lake Tahoe!
Never do that again because we had it rented for a total of three days by two different renters. The resort had to clean after first renter and last so we had that cost deducted from our little check that they sent us eight weeks later.
We would rather have our two bedroom even if its just my wife and I.
I figure this way if we wanted another week its better to just grab a Getaway.

That reall sucks.
I'm sorry they tapped that one in. Before they do business like that, they really should let you know about those things. No one ever thinks about cleaning costs like that. And for them to deduct things like "cleaning," Ahhhh....istn's that part of maintnance fees?
