    Hey everyone!!

When I was searching through the
forum, I noticed a lot of people
who said when they were buying
    their timeshare, or interested in
    buying, but didn't, because
of the way the sales man
    accused you lieing to them
or said that what you clamed
wasn't true, is mostly because of
dammage done in the past and/or still
    is being done.

    Let me exaplain.....

    OPC's (off-property consultants) are
paid in the amount of how many
people who show up for the presentation.

Many OPC's convince people to show up
to lie about their maratal status,
their job, how much they earn, and so on.
Some even go as far as giveing fake
wedding bands to their friends to attend
to make it look like they have a possible
family that is in need of a vacation resort.

This is why so many sales men ask over and
over, if what you say is true and
    accuse you of lieing.....

    ....as sad as that is.

Unfortuanantly, it seems as though no one
can trust eachother in this feild.

Not only is it that we cannot trust
everything the sales man tells us,
but the sales man can't even trust
who brought you hear and how.
(basically, what really was your motive)

Just thaught that was an interesting
fact I found and thought I'd share it
    with all of you.

So the system is broken all the way around....that means don't talk with any OPC, don't take any tours, don't get sucked into the game that the developers have already stacked against the consumer.

And ultimately, it means Thank God for TS4m members who know what's what, and know how to alert the unsuspecting.

Other than that, I don't know how else to interpret your post.
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

        yeah. Serious.

        I read it in:
        "Timeshare Vacations for Dummies."
Unfortunantly, This book is no longer
        in print.

Gess it wasn't a hot buy.

But it sure does give a lot
of info for anyone who's looking
        into and/or buying timeshares.
        Thaught it was interesting.

I read that book and a lot of it was so over simplified it made no sense. Some of it was fine but other parts, I wanted to scream because she left so much out.

            Well,
I gess it's good for some
            people who just want the
            basics.

However, I would like to read
            something more in depth.

Have you found anything to read
that offers so much in depth?

If so, I would like to get ahold of it.
The book did offer highering a timeshare
            cunsultant....but I haven't looked to
see how much that would cost.

Maybe it was a hot buy and that's why it's gone, not.
I have a copy signed by the author, unopened except to sign, it's worthless but I'll sell it to you for $99, hop on it.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

Probably it would cost a lot if there even were any. And if there actually was one, he or she would tell you to buy resale- which is just about what you would get here for advice. Ask away and consider us your personal consultant group and when you are done just send BigFrank a check for $ 200 (and he will even fix it so you can see our exchange opportunities forums). Put the rest of your savings against that resale timeshare buy that you can make with confidence.

                  I enjoy your sarcasm.

                  I haven't really thought
                  about buying a timeshare
                  just interested in understanding
                  it......for now.
Someday, I just might buy one.
                  And Yes.......resale.

I just wish people would publish
                  more books on timeshare.
I believe the reason no one really
does, is because of the "nasty"
                  name timeshare has because of
what has happend in the past.

                  That's too bad.

                  So many people have absolutely
                  runed something that others like
to look through and can't, cause
no one else wants to know about it.

Looking through the forum has been
                  much help.

                  Thanks

The white lies vary so much (sometime by salesperson) and new ones get made up all the time, so a book would soon be outdated if it was just on the timeshare sales pitch.
Timesharing is relatively new and things are always changing. In just the last few years we've had RCI start a points system and a registry collection. It seems like a year can't pass without something changing.

                      That's true.
                      When I bought the book,
                      I thought about that. But
I do know a bit more since
                      last week about timeshares.

I know that all the companies will
change as time goes on, and knew
when buying this book, it would
                      someday, be so outdated that
no one would even know what a
                      timeshare is anymore.

                      Most companies are calling themselves
                      "vacation clubs" and "vacation
                      ownerships" because the word
                      "timeshare," has such damaging
                      scars atatched to it.

In this day and age a book about something like timeshares, with so much misinformation out there, is out of date by the time it hits the shelves. Internet forums like this one provide much more information and get updated minute by minute.

                        Good luck with your explorations

                          BH,

                          Welcome to TS4Ms.

I think you will find more wisdom here than you are going to find in any book. And if you want "timeshare for dummies," well, you can get that from the developers...

Even if honest, there is too much info to condense, for starters.

Do you mind if I ask why your posts are in such shortened lines? If you would use the whole length of the text box, it would shorten the amount of space required for your posts.

Thanks. And keep reading. Don't buy until you know what works best for you.

the reson I use such short langth
lines is because, it's easier to
                            read.
                            Don't you agree?

When you come acoss a paragraph and have to read on and on and on, it requires more work.....kinda like this.

                            I read in another book,
(i do read a lot) that when
                            the eyes go from one
side of your head to the other,
just to read on a screen, it
                            requires more work for you.

I try to make things easy as
                            much as possible.
It does get more people to read
                            if it is much easier.

                            expecually (can't spell), in today's
                            time. Everyone requires things
                            fast and easy.

I always like it when I can read
                            something of intrest and
it's easy for me to read.
I look up so much info on books
and web pages. And when I
see a web page of interest, but
                            it streaches along the looooooooooong
side, it's hard to stay focused
                            and not get lost.

                            I think that's another reason,
                            paragraphs are important.
                            And when they are long
                            paragraphs and long to read
from one side to the other,
                            don't you get lost?

                            It happens.
                            Anyways. Just thought I'd
make it easier for people to
                            read my questons and feedback.

Hope to talk to all of you soon.
                            Thanks for your info everyone.
