  • Anyone else have unfinished timeshare business with John Faeth??

I was corresponding via e-mail with John's wife up until July 8, over a month ago. My e-mails and phone calls have not been returned. The bank where the escrow account is won't give me any information, only that Lorelei is John's personal representative and is the only person who has access to the money.
I was trying to patiently work with her, even offering assistance from another timeshare closing company. A sales agreement was signed back in February for the sale of our timeshare on St. John. I really don't know where to go from here. This is very frustrating. Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on what to do? Thanks.

Oh no.... so sorry that this has happened to you. Maybe someone here can give you directions on your issue. Hope it works out. I am sure after this you need a vacation!

I would first find out from your timeshare if you are still the owner on record. If you are then just try to sell it to someone else because it does not look to good hen they are not responding.

You might offer to let her out of the deal and shop it somewhere else. Remember, her husband just died and it will take at least a year -- maybe more -- before she gets herself together even remotely and is able to correspond with you the way you want.

If you want her to follow through with the deal, you're just going to have to be patient.

When she was communicating via e-mail over (5 weeks ago), we did offer to start the process over with another company by having her release the escrow money. She said she used to work with John in the business and said she would take care of it. I said that was fine but to please check in via e-mail once a week and keep us informed. She isn't returning phone calls either. Like I said earlier, that was 5 weeks ago.

If there is an estate open in probate court, I would file a claim with the court. Usually, you can get a claim form from the clerk. You may also be able to find one online. However, escrow funds, if deposited properly, should not be part of the estate.

He spent time in both NJ and PA...don't really know who to file the claim with.
At this point we're not sure of this was a true escrow account. Checks were made out to Faeth Closing Services. Any ideas? Thanks.

My understanding is that he lived in NJ.
