  • Toddlers....

As a new timeshare family, I was curious as to some of your favorite resorts to visit with toddlers.

    1. Should be in the continental US
    2. Activities, scheduled or not
    3. Location, near any fun things? convenient for grocery?
    4. Anything else... ????

We traveled with our dds to Hawaii every summer, since that is where we owned. No matter WHERE you go the kids will be more interested in the swimming pool than anything else (at least if they are like ours ). We had to learn to travel to their schedule if we all wanted to enjoy ourselves. That meant slowing down a bit, planning in for naps.....which many times the parents needed as much as the kids. What we loved about our particular resort was how roomy it was. It really felt like "home" and we felt we could spread out. Having the kitchen and laundry facilities was a must.

Where are you located? Do you want to fly to get to your vacation or would you rather drive?

We're in Central Texas and would probably drive, unless we got a GREAT deal on flights.

We always brought books, new games, stuff to keep the kids occupied. Of course we were flying to our location.

lol... that's cute! My older son was terrified of pools the last time I took him. But, today we had a milestone, he played in an enclosed playground for the first time. I bet pools would be fun now, great idea!

              Hawaii sounds nice!

Still good to mention, sometime you grab the electronics and forget the basics!

Hilton Head Island is a great place to go with young children. Lots of stuff to do, beach, pools, dolphin sails, shrimping, kids camps if you want them, mini golf galore. Kids' menus in even the nice restaurants.

My kids outgrew it in their teens, too low key for them. Now I've got little ones in my life again, and we're heading back

Not as good as HI, but quite a bit closer

Oh sounds like a lot to do. It's so great how the idea of what fun is, changes after having children.

No need to dumb down the vacation for the littler ones. Mine was always happy with a beach or pool. Since my dad is in Southern california we flew out there twice a year. Planned on a day trip during the week to a park, such as SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, Disneyland, Legoland etal.

The rest was geared more towards hanging out on the beach or at the pool.

There is tons of entertainment for the younger set in SCal.

Kitchen is the best with younger ones. The first time we stayed in a regular hotel room he ran around looking for "the rest of the place."

                          No little ones

Haven't had my own little ones for many many years, but do travel often with grandkids ranging in age from 11 down. Pools seem to be very popular with mine. Beaches also, but more so pools. Amusement parks are okay, but really nice city parks with good playgrounds work well.

Right Nancy. Playgrounds are good. Anyplace where they can run around and burn off steam, .

I like the idea of day trips and using city parks... if we keep costs reasonable = more vacations!!!!
