OK I have been thinking and made a decision. I need to get my act together and purchase the following sooner or later.

A Starwood EOY at a primo location good trader of course.

A Marriott EOY at a primo location good trader of course.

    Both must be resale.

This will not give me too many weeks and also I will have plenty of flexibility.

Who wants to talk me out of this?

Not me ....just be sure both ownerships are 2BR L/Os and opposite years - Marriott odd, Starwood even. Remember your Marriott week if purchasing platinum will also get you an AC for the 1BR part - unfortunately, because of SVNs crappy deposit policy in II, no AC is offered for those weeks.

Have mine, week in London, 12 weeks in Steamboat Springs during ski season, week in Club Regina to warm up afterward and a fractional ownership for trading and use of the country club facilities.

Life is good. Keep working on your plan.

          Cheers

How did you get 12 weeks in Steamboat?

There are at least two complexes, The Rockies and The West, and I think others that have a few units that are timeshares and the rest whole ownership. They have an unusual arrangement of, I think five shares, that are split with three at 6 weeks straight in ski season with 4 other other weeks in the fall and spring and other shares that are in the summer. The rest of the complex units are straight whole ownerships. I bought one of the ski season 1/5's at an estate sale and another at a Sheriff's sale, both at very good prices. I now have 12 weeks back to back from 15 Jan to 15 Apr.

It seems these were somewhat common arrangements in the first spurt of Building at Steamboat back in the 70's. Never seen a similar split anywhere else.

              Cheers

                Update here!

Sold my Summit Watch Bronze. Not too shabby for a 1st timer in the Marriott system.

Picked up a Grande Vista Plat EOY. Just closed last week! Yeah Baby!

I think I am going to hold off on the Starwood for a little while. Just a little while, wait and see how this economy thing works out!

Join the MGV owners group.....the link is under my TUG signature - and find out if your unit is part of the Florida Club - if it is, you can reserve at BeachPlace Towers or Ocean Point at the 6 month mark and get an AC for the 1BR deposit.......and it trades GREAT....

                  Congrats on your purchase.
