rented a week with RCI
I'm with the bait and switch guy and inflated points for info on a class action lawsuit about just such behavior please see this link and my thread in general timeshare discussions - RCI class action lawsuits
THEY LIE A LOT and Wyndham Resorts bought it 1 year ago and thats when it started but according to Wyndham they have no control over that - believe it if you want

It is obvious by replies from Perry Mason that he evidently works for RCI, but if someone has a CLASS ACTION law suit - the definition of class action means there are far more than one - so just having a CLASS ACTION lawsuit all by itself SAYS something - How about it Perry do you work for RCI or Wyndham, tell the people the truth they inflate points, and rent the inventory out to cash paying customers leaving the people that paid good money for years the spoils - well we got this but since inventory in that area is so thin it's gonna cost you 2 times its value. How about it Perry did ya find out who I am yet - little clue FRANK DON'T KNOW. It's clear that anything said pro RCI is peachy buy anything negative is just ridiculous - but it's true - I just experienced it. THEY ARE COMPLICIT IN THIS SALES TECHNIQUE.
BTW - Perry sent me a private email saying whats below and you can post my replies I say the same things in public or private
what you read below says RCI doesn't control the resort but they WILL rent something out for CASH far ahead of points and THEY DO CONTROL THAT.
And as for your first email they won't cost me another dime but any misery I can dish up for them will be adequate, I just wish I had their mailing list so I could warn all of their customers and yes I would spend that much money to do it
As for the lawsuits that is a colossal boondoggle that will end up costing the RCI members and only enriching the shyster lawyers. That I'm totally against and I'm glad to see that, as was predicted 3 years ago when it was filed, it appears to be a dead issue. Thats the best outcome for that. Let the market punish RCI if they really are as bad as some say. I know I dropped my membership to both RCI & II as they didn't do the job for me. Now I don't care if they rent or raise rates - it doesn't impact me one bit. If everyone took proactive measures they would get the message far better than some lawyer can deliver it in a costly lawsuit.
I do go on far too many vacations and have found timesharing to be addictive. My only quibble was your pointed attacks on RCI when they are simply the go between. I'm no RCI defender but they aren't the right target in your situation.
As I mentioned on the BBS that sounds terrible & I agree you have a complaint. But you are blaming RCI when they aren't the operators of that resort or any other! The issue is with the resort and you should mark them as low as possible on their "report card" to RCI so RCI knows there is a problem. But to blame RCI for the whole situation is like blaming an airline if the weather turns bad. They don't control that.
