  • How to sell my week

    Newbie here,

We've got a Royal Holiday timeshare that we're thinking of selling next year, approx. 1-2 weeks. How is this generally done? Where can I find info on how to sell my time? Do we book a time slot and then try to sell those specific dates or should we book the time according to buyers request? How do you cover damage liability when you sell your time? Are we liable for damage to timeshare unit caused by the buyers? I'm sure this topic has been discussed before, where's a good place to research?
    Thanks.

Hi Mike, looks like your talking about renting the use

of a week or 2, not selling the underlying ownership.

To rent, in normal economic times, you make a reservation for a prime week in a high demand resort, and list in on all the sites you can afford and rent it.

As you have noticed, these aren't normal times.

I don't know where to advise your to reserve, Paris and London were great before, as was NYC, I just don't have that special cleaner for my crystal ball, it is all fogged up.

The resorts collect a credit card from anyone checking in, and even though you are responsible, they almost always collect for damages from the tenant.

Your best bet may be depositing some weeks with a trade company ( like RCI, SFX, TPI, DAE) to extend your period of use out another couple of years, rather than trying to rent in this environment.

    fwiw,

    Greg
