  • Ocean Time no longer with Defender Resorts

I have been in contact with Defender Resorts lately because I hadn't receive d by 2009 MF. I also was looking forward to participating in Flex program in 2009 because as owning Week 8; I was hoping to trade to week 12 or 14 without an additional exchange Fee. I was on the Defender Resort page over the weekend and all pages refering to Ocean Time were removed. I contacted Defender and they said they dropped Ocean Time for 2009 and I would be contacted by Ocean Time soon. Has anyone else heard anything?

Management companies rarely drop resorts. It is usually the HOA dropping the management company. Call your HOA president.

This might be a good thing, I was there years ago and needed service, They had a young girl in the office and she could not do anything nor did she know how to even get my room to open. We finally got a call back from a MGR who was away, He told us the combo for a Skeleton key they had locked up in the parking lot which got us in. The service that we got was poor from the Defender office.

Ocean Time - Ocean City Maryland - Defender Resort

Ocean Time is located in OC and is walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean

The Ocean Time Board of Directors want to keep their fees stable

The interior and furnishings need updating (O/T BOD keep putting it off)
The exterior was painted & repaired using funds from special assessment

We own two timeshare units are Ocean Time
and have not received our statements yet.

We went to the Ocean Time Annual Meeting in the Spring 2008
and found out that Defender Management can only do so much.

We are disappointed in both Ocean Time & Defender Resorts Management!

          Defender Resorts response

In late 2008, the BOD of Ocean Time Assoc allowed a sitting board member to bid on the management contract. Defender protested this overt conflict of interest to the board president who nevertheless allowed this process to continue. Defender then decided to withdraw any interest in the management of Ocean Time so long as the BOD allowed overt and blatant conflicts of interest.

Is Defender an owner also at Ocean Time?
