  • Would this be considered odd?

We'll be in Hawaii in two months - I can hardly wait as we have had snow here for far too long and we are just not used to it.

    Anyway, enough whining.

We'll be at the same resort for two weeks with another couple. We'd like to split the use of the master bedroom but aren't keen on washing our own sheets and stuff.

Would it be inappropriate to request that our room be "done" after the end of our first week? I'm assuming not, that to request that sheets be changed and bathrooms be cleaned, basically, would not be wrong since if we were leaving they'd have to do it. We wouldn't really care about anything else.

Is there any protocol for this? Is it something I should assume happens? Something I should confirm when I check in?

We've always had to move mid holiday and so it's just a natural break to split the "better" bedroom. It will be a treat to be in one place for two weeks - it's always a full day lost.

    TIA

    Bev

A lot of nice hotels will change your sheets on request. On a cruise I went on they were changed daily. Dont expect them to scrub the bathroom down but you can get new towels.

I would certainly ask/request. You paid 2 exchange fees or have 2 maintance fee weeks - if so then you deserve the service. It is included in the price.

I'd check. Many places replace everything mid-week.

Are you in the very same unit for two weeks? We have a two-week stay at a resort coming up in July. One week we own and one is an exchange. I was assuming they would be different units and we would have to leave the first unit by ten a.m., as if we were leaving the resort, and then come back to check in again at four p.m., as if we were just arriving.

I suppose we might be required to move but that would seem odd to me. They are both two bedroom units. It would seem more work for the staff to completely clean a unit when the same people are staying in the resort, but I don't know.

Gee, that's something else I guess I'll call about in advance, is trying to have our exchanges "linked" to not have to move.

The place we're going to in July is pretty small, and most owners use their summer weeks. If you're going to a biggish place, you're probably right that they won't move you. But it might be a good idea to check.

Again, thanks for that - honestly wouldn't have thought of it but will definitely check before we arrive.

Everyplace we have stayed for two consecutive weeks has been cleaned as if we were leaving and another group coming in. I would check first if you will be in the same unit for the two weeks and hoe their cleaning schedule works. Also, since you will have a 2 bedroom, many have washer/dryer in the unit. I'm not wild about doing sheets when I travel, but if the equipment is in the unit it does take the sting out of doing the "laundry."

Every time we have stayed over a week at a timeshare, they have done the room cleaning as scheduled each week, which included changing linens. We have also been able to stay in the same unit and did not have to move.
