  • High Country Club Files Bankruptcy

    Just announced this afternoon . . .

The destination club, High Country Club has ceased operations, canceled all reservations, and filed bankruptcy.

    Dear High Country Club Member,

Effective immediately, High Country Club will no longer be in business. Along with our bankruptcy attorneys, we are in the process of filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy early next week.

The severe decline in the economy has made it impossible to operate our business. Our team has worked tirelessly over the past 120 days to restructure and save the business. However, multiplying outside factors and a declining membership has made operations impossible.

Effective immediately all reservations are canceled.

We expect that the Bankruptcy Court will be in contact with members after our filing next week.

I offer my sincerest apologies and regrets as the current business and economic environment has made it impossible for HCC to operate.

That's bad, shades of Bernard Madoff and Charles Ponzi.

The Bankruptcy Court will be in contact to tell members when the creditors meeting is and whether or not to file a claim. Sorry for all those who invested with this company.

There will be a Chapter 7 trustee appointed who will have access to all of the financial records. Hopefully, there will be financial transactions that can be set aside and money returned to pay some money to creditors.

I never got too involved with the destination club threads because the whole concept is out of my level. But weren't there some regulars posting about what great investments the DCs were? Wasn't there something about the way they were put together that made them more like true real estate?

Or is my memory failing me??
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

          “You shouldn't wear that body.”

No bankruptcy filed yet. I searched the Pacer US Party Index and no results for High Country Club. As the letter from HCC indicated, it may be filed next week. There's no deadline to do so.

Is there a searchable database open to the public? I have submitted a claim to a former employer for unpaid wages and I heard from Wage and Hour yesterday -- but they told me my former employer is filing for bankruptcy. I would like to verify this if possible. Is there a link you could provide?

              Thanks,
              Debi

                Hi Debi,

Yes, there is a searchable database for federal and bankruptcy courts here:

                PACER Service Center Home Page

Registration is free. It costs $.08 per page to view.

Hope you can find the information you need. If not, PM me and I will try to help you.

                  Thanks Mike,

I'll have a look. He has 15 days to respond to my claim -- and if he does file for bankruptcy, it has to be done during this period (at least that's what I was told).

                  Thank you so much.

That's better because filing for bankruptcy is the best option when they have problem talking about debt of that country. It will help our debts and give an opportunity to start anew. However, in this problem, much better if we discuss it with a bankruptcy attorney. They sure will help that high country clubs on how to file bankruptcy. They have a lot of knowledge about this.
