Informing our resorts about the RCI lawsuits

Recently, I have sent emails about the RCI lawsuits to resorts where I own that are not geographically close enough for me to participate in the HOA and where I do not personally know the resort leadership. I do not editorialize on the issue or get into my own opinions with them, just take a heads up approach and send a link to the Green Welling webpage.

This morning I received the first response:

''Dear [Mr. Carolinian]:

Thank you for sending this important information. I am shocked as this is the first time I heard about an unlawful practice of RCI. We will discuss this in the next boardmeeting. We should be much obliged to you for sending further information on this matter in the future.

Best regards,
[name]
secretary.''

Many timesharers probably assume that their resorts are on top of everything that is happening in timesharing, but this is often not so. Some seem to be better informed than others. The well aimed broadside that the Seasons chain in Europe fired at RCI in their newsletter over both points and rentals a few years ago at the time they jumped ship to II, comes to mind. But many are clueless and will continue to be unless we help get the info out.

We can help better timesharing by being proactive on this matter.

Yeah, I did.

I sent links to it to the same jackass of a Board President who roasted me and had the resort manager report me to RCI when I brought rentals at our resort up a year ago, after one of our colleagues had had success doing the same thing with his resort.
